My father in law was in this care home for 12 weeks. Most of which they were in lockdown due to covid because they didn’t implement the guidelines correctly. This was the only reason he was in there so long because it was impossible to visit a lot of the time to observe how poor the care was. He became extremely withdrawn and miserable whilst he was there and refused to take his coat and hat off most of the time whilst he was in his room (he suffers from dementia and does this when he is preparing to leave somewhere). It was noticeable straight away that something was not right. He was not provided with fresh water in his room (and suffers from gout so needs to stay well hydrated) and he never had any clean clothes in his drawers. Indeed, at times, the only clothes in his room were a small ladies cardigan and he is a very large man. On two occasions, My husband rang to speak to a member of staff and the telephone was answered by a very confused and distressed resident. Almost no activities were provided during his stay and for the majority of the time; he refused to leave his room. It appears that at least part of the reason for this is that he was in huge amounts of pain with gout and so did not want to move. My husband and sister in law repeatedly asked if he was receiving pain care and were assured that pain relief had been received from the doctor but when they checked in with the gp they found that this was not the case. This was the final straw and so they immediately moved him to another (much cheaper) care home where he has been extremely well cared for and where he has been very happy. Do not send your loved one here.

Absolutely atrocious place. Arranged for my 89 year old father to stay here due to the fact that it seemed nice and clean and they had an on site farm. Within weeks of his arrival the place lost their manager and administrator. He spent 8 of 12 weeks in covid lockdown as the staff team repeatedly failed to enact government guidance (and would regularly tell me they didn't bother to read the guidance). His clothes went missing almost immediately and he never had enough clean clothes or pyjamas. Constantly left alone in his room and zero activities provided. To top it all they left him in chronic pain when his gout flared up and refused to note or record our requests to get him appropriate medical treatment. In the end we couldn't wait to get him out of there and he is now in a wonderful care home (Park Manor in Ipswich) which is genuinely amazing and has staff that really do care about their residents.

Allonsfield is a loverly old farm house that has been converted in to a care home the grounds are extensive has been upgraded recently and there is a mini farm in the process of being built unfortunately delayed due to covid-19 once complete will have a number of animals also a organic veg plot. Recently we have been affected due to lock down restrictions but we have also tried to keep the residents lives as normal as possible they are and always will be our number one priority....

Lovely care home with friendly staff. Would be nice to see more activities done with the residents. The safety of the residents always comes first even more so with the pandemic
