Upton Bay Care Home in Hamworthy, Poole has been specifically designed to provide high-quality residential care to older people, in addition to care and support for individuals living with dementia.

Upton Bay is perfectly placed to easily access so many of Dorset’s beautiful attractions. Just a short bus ride away is Poole Quay with many shops, restaurants, boat trip opportunities and places to sit and while the time away yacht spotting. Sandbanks and Studland is easily accessible at a short drive away, whilst right on our doorstep there is access to shops, a few pubs and a lovely coastal park just down the road. Upton Bay really is placed to enjoy Dorset at its best.

The home has a dedicated area which we call our Memory Lane Community. Within our community, memory boxes with small reminders and items such as photographs, are used to help each person reminisce. Features such as adapted crockery and tableware, sensory gardens with low-risk walkways and activity kitchens also enable people to engage in life's everyday simple tasks and pleasures.

Our team of highly qualified and attentive staff will focus on the individual needs of each resident, creating a uniquely tailored care plan for each person. The dedication of our staff can be seen across the board in our catering, hospitality and the implementation of a varied activities programme.

We have created a video to showcase our stunning care home, which you can view below:

I had the pleasure of visiting this home for business reasons and I could not have been more impressed. On arrival I was greeted by Sophie who was very welcoming and I was introduced to a number of residents all of whom were happy and obviously very comfortable in their surroundings. Sophie knew them all by first name and spent time having a chat with them making them feel at ease with my presence there. All of the staff I saw looked happy in their work and I witnessed games taking place for the benefit of the residents. Activities take place 7 days a week and there is also a garden where people can enjoy the fresh air if they wish. The home is obviously very efficiently run by a dedicated and friendly team and is a credit to the Barchester name.

The manager Mevin is very professional and provides you with all the information on this beautiful home. There is nothing more I can say apart from is outstanding.

A very pleasant and welcoming environment. Extremely supportive of local charities. Sophie, their home services advisor, supported Prama by running the 2022 Virtual London marathon to raise funds for Prama - a local charity supporting older people in Dorset.
