Our Philosophy

Our person centred approach ensures we tailor make our offering for each resident. From the first meeting we will engage with you and your loved one to ensure that we know what their strengths and abilities are, as well as their personal history and background. We want to ensure that every resident is able to lead a happy, comfortable life amongst people who really care for them. This philosophy extends to our care team, family members, friends and the care environment.

About the company

Benslow is a leading independent provider of care for the elderly and operates 5 homes, two of which include facilities for clients with nursing needs. All of our homes provide care for older people living with dementia. Benslow is a family run business, it was founded by Steve and Sue McQuinn in 1982 who were born, grew up, married and still live in Hertfordshire. Their daughters Teresa and Karen joined the business in 2018 as Managing Director and Finance Director respectively.

Our Services

We are committed to good quality care and listen carefully to the views of people who use our service.

Each resident has an individual personal care plan which identifies care needs, including medication and physical capabilities, as well as diet, hobbies, family and life history. These are regularly reviewed and updated to ensure we are assisting in every way we can. Benslow head office team work hard to ensure our care team are supported to deliver care to the standard that we aspire to.

We are fully compliant with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 “Essential Standards for Quality and Safety”
