This review is for the Radcliffe-on-Trent location, which has turned off its reviews (probably because it was getting so many bad ones). Birds fired an employee who was helping elderly customers that did not have bank cards to pay. Even after a petition, they stood their ground that contactless was a health policy and were in the right to fire her. In a time when hospitality is on the brink, going against your customers and doing wrong by staff is not a good look. Many elderly do not have bank cards, and I have almost never seen a store not accept cash, even in London!
