I have been a Personal Trainer since 2014 after making the switch from a Project Manager in the Civil Service and life in an office that simply wasn’t for me! It was the best decision I ever made. I love my job and get a huge thrill from seeing my clients grow, succeed and hit their goals.

I continued to study after becoming a Personal Trainer, initially gaining a qualification in GP Exercise Referral and then as a specialist in Obesity and Diabetes Management. This was fundamental to my journey as I have always struggled with my weight and understand the physical, psychological and critically emotional challenges that come with being overweight. Helping clients achieve their weight loss goals remains the greatest thrill I get from being a trainer.

As my experience grew as a trainer I began to take a deeper interest in anatomy, physiology and injury rehabilitation. This itch would be scratched as I qualified as a Sport Massage Therapist in 2017. Again, I would continue to study new techniques and refine my craft, with deep tissue massage and Muscle Energy Techniques (METs) becoming my preferred treatment methods.

Coming full circle, the work that I have undertaken as a Massage Therapist has helped me become a better Personal Trainer. The greater depth of anatomy and physiology that I have gained from my massage work has helped me better assess client movement, target areas of development and when necessary, break into massage work mid-session, when the need arises! My clients who attend multiple times a week, tend to ask for a mixture of Personal Training and Sports Massage, to keep on top of both their physical and mental games.

I have been with Ian for a few years now. He is as good a personal trainer as he is masseuse. Friendly and personable, he takes time to consider my needs- whether it be anti stress massage or deep tissue he is excellent at either. He uses top quality products and has a relaxing location. Highly recommended!

I started training with Ian a few months ago after having a few niggling injuries. He was able to pinpoint my issues really quickly and built sessions and a plan to help me move past them. He makes session's enjoyable whilst ensuring I'm progressing each time.

If your looking for a personal trainer then Ian is the one you want, no judgement, no pressure, no false promises just the honest truth and a well thought out plan of action to get you to your goals. His gym is just perfect with everything you need without it being stuffed with machines that look like you need to be a genius to use 🤣, just everything you need to get the results you want. Ian himself is lovely, easy to talk to and knows what he’s on about, I’ve been to a few gyms where the PT’s have no idea what struggle your going through and have even less of an idea when it comes to the mental health side of things. Ian knows his stuff. I can’t recommend Ian and Bison Personal Fitness enough, I’f you don’t believe me try it and tell me I’m wrong

Ian has the professional, personal approach in his role and takes your goals, health and well-being seriously and makes each session enjoyable. He tailors the workouts to you and knows the right words to get you moving and to push yourself to be the best you can be that day. I only hesitate to strongly recommended him as it may prevent me from booking in more 1 hour sessions a week! Knowledgeably, great guy. Easily a 5* service.

I started training with Ian 4 months ago following a pelvic stress fracture through running. I was apprehensive at my first session.. I've never really liked the gym and had never really done any form of weight training but didn't want to loose my new found fitness that I had gained through running. After my first session I was hooked and I've been coming every week since. Ian is lovely. He has become my personal trainer and therapist... excellent when needing to unload after a stressful week at work. We train hard but often have a giggle too (usually about my lack of coordination) so it's not all sweat and tears. Ian's own personal gym is perfect. You have the gym entirely to yourself for your session so your never made to feel insecure as you sometimes can in commercial gyms. Since training with Ian I have improved my physical strength, gained some muscle and improved my posture... yesterday I went on my first training run back since my Injury and of course Ian was there every step of the way! I would highly recommend to all levels of fitness, even complete newbies who have never set foot in a gym (you'll soon feel right at home).
