Blencogo Village Hall

Blencogo is a small farming village on the Solway plain just outside of Wigton. Our community website seeks to involve all those within the parish and further afield. On the site you will find a ‘What’s on’ diary of events, a list of suppliers and businesses available locally, useful links and some commentary from local user groups and individuals. The Hall is available for hire throughout the year

A really lovely building dating back to the late 19th century. It used to be the village school before it was closed in 1991. The hall is a great venue for hosting parties or for a more formal function. It's pretty cheap to hire and even has an indoor bouncy castle available for hire as well! There's a large car park with room for around 40 cars and disabled access through the front door. The hall has a fully fitted kitchen which can be hired for a small additional cost. On top of this they regularly hold community events such as pub nights, produce shows, carnivals, curry nights and loads of others. There are a number of regular clubs that use the hall as well. There's a gardening club, The waver wine circle, a bowling club, an art group, the Dundraw WI and a craft and chat club. It's a really great friendly community building that's got plenty of room for up to 120 people!

This village hall is a lovely hall but is seriously going down hill fast in my opinion with some of the new committee members and the village hall charmain especially he has absolutely no Idea at all on how to run a village hall safe and effective and efficiently i hope he doesn't grind it down to much till it closes some new committee members required I think before this happens how things change this hall used to be brilliant with the old committee and a lot of great evenings and events was done here also.
