About Us
Calcott Hall is a family run business and our aim is to provide a pleasant and friendly shopping experience, very different from large supermarkets. We grow a range of vegetables throughout the year and source locally whenever possible.
McTurks have been farming at Calcott Hall for over 40 years. Our farm is 120 acres (equivalent to about 70 football pitches) and was formerly a dairy farm. From humble beginnings selling potatoes and sweetcorn from boxes in 1974, much has happened at Calcott Hall and we have grown considerably. We renovated an old Essex barn in 1983, and have gradually used more and more of it as our shop needs have grown. For more about the farm look at our Farm and History pages.

You will pay a little bit more but you will be getting quality food.
Parking is free and access is easy

Mark Gibson5 StarFirst time we visited Calcott Hall Farm. Initially went to the restaurant for breakfast but ended up buying stuff from both the farm shop and brewery. What a great place, friendly staff and quality food and drink. Like your M&S compared to basic Tesco, not the cheapest but well worth a visit as everything so fresh and the place was spotless. Even have an onsite butcher and fishmongers. You get everything you need (and wine and beer) in one place. Even Ronnie the Cat agrees the Brentwood brewery beers are top notch. Danny Davis5 StarFantastic place and we now aim to get a few meals each week from here instead of the Supermarket.
You could instantly taste the difference in quality with the Asparagus, the potatoes that would usually start sprouting after a couple of days were still fresh a week later from here.
Have had a few roast joints from the Butchers, pork and beef both lovely and given good instructions for cooking. Marinated Sea Bass from the Fishmonger was amazing.

Lesley Dention5 StarGood selection of fresh food. Everything looks inviting. All you need from a Farm Shop including fresh meat, fish and deli counter. Operate a loyalty scheme. Also have a great cafe selling coffees and lunch with a kids play area. Certainly worth shopping there but not cheap.Tuesday 27th September 2022
