The Church House Inn at Torver, near Coniston, has been accommodating travellers since the 14th Century. Visit us in the heart of the Lake District. We have available a spectacular camping location, double and twin rooms, a family friendly bunk room and also our newly renovated holiday let prefect for two. Our rooms can be booked on a room only basis or to include breakfast.

Booked for a week. Wanted to stay longer. Clean quiet site. Friendly owner very helpful. Shame about the pub being closed it would do good business if only for the campers and b+b. Pity the other pub took all the business away. Nice pub though just a shame not enough business for both. Would come again.

Absolutely amazing little spot. Bit further out of Coniston but a nice walk down the old railway path and about £60 cheaper than the tired places in the centre. The host Mark is a kind soul who’s run off his feet so make sure you ring up to book as emails may get missed. The room was clean and modern within the old building where you have to stoop or curse! The breakfast was immense. Fresh ingredients and loads of food. All prepared fresh by Mark. Poached eggs and bangers were spot on. Aside from the BNB he has some camping spots and a new lodge with hot tub in the back which seems very popular. This is a real gem near Coniston and a great base for the Old Man of coniston which we did. Lovely hot powerful shower afterwards was a winner. Mark hasn’t quite opened the bar up yet as he is running this place single-handedly. COVID hasn’t been kind to small places like this and he just hasn’t the time. The place has bags of character and loads or outside space which you can utilise nonetheless. We will be back. Undoubtedly.
