I worked with the CV Advisor on their review and improve package, Chris was very efficient and thorough. He really got down to the bones of what was wrong with my current one and showed me how to make the improvements, with great suggestions on particular phrases and structure. The two sessions we had were very informative and really helped to boost my confidence when applying for jobs. The difference before and after was night and day. Chris was really clear about what needed to be done and how to do it, explaining the effect it would have on potential employers In all, the clear, effective changes made defiantly increased the response rate of perspective employs and I have just gotten a job I am really excited to start. Chris unblocked my mental blocks when it came to writing my CV. He really engaged with me to understand my experiences and showed me how valuable things that I had underestimated would be to employers. Like many people, I only ever looked at my CV once every 3 years or so. But Chris does this all the time. Because of using him I have arrived at a much better CV and done so far quicker and with a lot less stress than I would have done on my own. A great return on investment! I have recently worked with Chris to improve my CV and mindset to help me to find a new role. I was extremely impressed at his process, support and the outcome. When I first spoke to Chris, it quickly became clear that he understood the ins and outs of corporate recruitment processes and how recruiters set about recruiting staff for senior positions. Firstly, Chris and discussed my experience, my aspirations and the barriers that I had encountered in finding a new role. This enabled him to be able to provide me with his bespoke assessment and feedback on me. His input enabled me to put redundancy into context and work with this experience in my CV. The discovery conversations were vital to help me to understand where my broad experience added value and how I could deploy this to best effect. Following this Chris advised me on the various styles of CV and which one would be the most effective type for the marketing roles I was looking at. Once we had worked on the ideal format, he was able to feedback on the draft and final version. This enabled me to produce one that matched the senior roles I was seeking. His input and advice was essential to help me find my next role. Before speaking to Chris, I had wasted money on a CV re-writing service advertised on a job site and wish that I had spoken to Chris beforehand as his advice and help has been significantly more effective. As a result of Chris’ help I have been able to secure a senior International Marketing role, which matches both my experience and asipirations. I worked with Chris Cutting who owns CV Adviser, to help me re-work my CV to make it shorter (two pages) and to make it punchier and more attractive to employers and recruiters, while also ensuring it would not be rejected by the automated HR systems called Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS). I was initially cautious as I have had very poor experiences with CV re-writers in the past. However, Chris gave me tips and suggestions that were both sensible and informed and made me feel that I had really made an improvement in the document, which in turn grew my confidence in its use. He even went into my draft document overnight and reformatted it, making it much more pleasing to the eye! Chris also gave me a ton of guidance and help with my job search strategy and I cannot wait to put that into effect, starting today!
