David was a really good find. He produced a very detailed and informative report. This provided very helpful information to use in our negotiations with the vendor. He also responded quickly to my follow up questions and was able to provide a list of recommended contractors for remedial work and further specialist surveys. I will definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a surveyor.

David was incredibly helpful as we were up against a deadline and reported very quickly the salient important points on the very old house we are buying. He emailed us the portion of the report that the selling agents needed to see. He was very thorough and very realistic in his advice and concerns. We would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending him to anyone. We’re buying an old cottage so needed someone who understood the house. Excellent surveyor who deserves this 5 star rating completely ! Sue

Excellent service, efficient and much more reasonably priced than other surveyors on the market. Five years ago we bought our current house and we used a surveyor recommended by our estate agent, we now understand that they are often used by other agents too. However, we have found that prices have gone up since the pandemic. We got several quotes and just felt they were asking too much at a time when a lot of people have been battling with economic and health issues recently. We were so pleased when we searched more and found David Boakes and we spoke to him about the types of surveys he provides and costs involved. He was polite and professional and reasonably priced. Despite other surveyors being fully booked for weeks in advance, David was able to fit us in as the property we are buying is vacant. He was also fully booked up but he went out of his way to fit us in which was great. The report was by far the best we have received for any property we have previously purchased, and we have experience in property buying as it’s our business. David’s report was detailed and each paragraph was relevant to the actual property rather than the generic reports we have received in the past. The photos were a great addition and several were taken from high above the property and have a great view of the plot and roof top so that the state of the roof , chimney etc can be properly assessed. Worth every pound we spent on this report and highly recommend David Boakes.
