Message from the HeadTeacher

At the heart of everything we do are our students. Our curriculum is student-centred and we aim for their education to be inspiring, stimulating and challenging. Our staff are appointed for their passion, their enthusiasm and their imagination in communicating with children to ensure that every single child in their classes is engaged, excited and challenged by the learning experience at all times.

Our vision is to empower students so that they are able to take control of their own future and have enhanced life chances as a result of learning with us. We are academically ambitious for our students and with the opening of our sixth form in September 2015 we are excited at now having the opportunity to nurture their love of learning into A Levels and beyond.

It is one of the worst schools around Essex! I have had numerous occasions were staff have not dealt with me being bullied and other issues , staff leave after 6 months or so as the school is in an academy and there is no permanent head of school. When I was preparing for my GCSE'S, on a number of occasions my maths teacher refused to teach me some of the higher grade maths as I was aiming for a C/B in my maths, he said that I was "stupid and would not understand the work", even though I was the only student in the class that had completed the work correctly and to a high standard. Disruptive students get praised for being naughty and many are sent to college to study a course that they would like to study. A few week ago I was pushed down the stairs by younger students as the teacher was not observing the stairs, I hit my head and was unconscious. After I come round I went to the medical centre and told them I was suffering from terrible head pains, they told me to take my own medicine and I sat my history exam with concussion. Later in the evening I was rushed to hospital as I could not see, later at the hospital they said I had an expected spinal injury and I was put in the blocks & neck brace, I also jolted my hip out of place. I was put on crutches for 3 weeks all because the school did not acknowledge my head injury! WHAT EVER YOU DO DON'T GO HERE IT IS A TERRIBLE SCHOOL!!!

I was worried about a secondary school for my son as he came from a London primary school. This was the first school he looked at and wanted to go there. I'm so happy he did as we have had no problems here ..
