Well done to Silver Class who are in the lead with 182 reads this term and also Purple Class who doubled the number of reads last week!

Thank you to Mrs Daniels, a parent from YrR and ‘Make it Groovy’ practitioner who led a workshop for Gold and Silver Classes on Tuesday. The session was based on the story of Supertato and the children made their own superhero, sang and danced. Some photos of the fun will be added to the website!

On Friday 30th June we are hoping for fine weather so the children can enjoy a picnic with grab bags alongside children from Ditton Juniors.

The Year 1 children had an enjoyable trip to Chessington World of Adventures on Tuesday. They watched a dance show, visited the zoo, aquarium and even squeezed in a trip on ‘Room on the Broom! We did think that the storm in the morning may cause a few issues but the clouds cleared and they had a memorable day.

Caterlink are our catering provider and they value feedback from all stakeholders to help them improve the service they provide to the children. This term they are completing a Parent/Guardian survey on the meal provision we provide.

If you wish to take part in this survey, please complete using the link below. The survey will close on 21st July, we will provide an update to schools which have taken part in the autumn term.

Donna Sales, Community Warden has arranged a bike signing in Ditton during the Summer Holidays with the youth club.

Children aged 4-11 are invited to join the Summer Reading Challenge in Kent Libraries this summer. The Summer Reading Challenge 2023 will start on Saturday 8th July and will continue to run throughout the summer, finishing on Saturday 9th September. The Summer Reading Challenge is aimed at keeping children reading throughout the summer while away from school, as well as providing a fun, free activity for families. The theme for 2023 is Ready, Set, Read! In partnership with the Youth Sport Trust, this Summer Reading Challenge will inspire children and their families to develop a passion for reading for pleasure, and unleash the power of play, sport and physical activity through reading. Children will be able to join a superstar team and their marvellous mascots as they navigate a fictional summer obstacle course brought to life with illustrations by children’s illustrator Loretta Schauer. As children read library books, they will collect special rewards along the way and there’s a certificate and medal for everyone who completes the Challenge.

We always enjoy seeing children then share their certificates and medals in celebration assembly in September.

Well done to Red Class who won Attendance Ted this week with 99%.

This term’s attendance colouring competition will be sent home on Monday.
