I have a BSc (hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare and an MSc in Clinical Animal Behaviour from The University of Lincoln. I previously worked as a lecturer at Nottingham Trent University and Hartpury University for 7 years as well as working as a Research Fellow. I have seven published journal papers in the field of canine kinematics and have written numerous pieces for The Conversation and various magazines. I started my Canine Consultancy business after having my first baby and I adore my work. I am really passionate about what I do and helping owners and their dogs. emily.jpg

Our first ever dog was the most wonderful rescue dog called Evie and to her, I pretty much owe everything. She was one of the worlds naughtiest souls to have ever lived (you can read all about her on my blog) and it was due to that naughty nature I became interested in behaviour. I currently have two Border Collies, Zipper and Juno!

I really can't recommend Emily highly enough. She is so insightful, and really quickly able to both diagnose what is at the heart of the issues I was facing with my rescue, and give compassionate and extremely helpful advice on how to tackle them. Her knowledge is so obviously based on really solid research coupled with years of experience. My dog has responded so well to her suggestions, and it's great to know that she is available going forward if I am struggling in any way. She reassured me, and I now have a much less anxious dog who is loving his training. I'm so glad she was recommended to me, and I happily recommend her to anyone who is struggling with their animal's behaviour. She's a gem!

Emily absolutely knows her stuff. She has so much knowledge surrounding dog behaviours and instantly knows how to approach any problem that you may be having. She has helped us countless times with our labrador and I’m so happy to have found her as her help has been absolutely priceless. We were on the cusp of rehoming and Emily completely turned it all around for us, we’re so happy to have been able to bring our dog closer into the family rather than push her away.

We have contacted Emily as our dog has developed severe anxiety after very bad advice from a dog training school. Emily was very quick to spot what was done wrong and point it out from the dog's perspective. What was great is that she had listened to our routine and story of our relationship with a dog, she has observed him and tailor-made action plan step by step. It was actually an eye-opening experience and allowed us to build an even stronger bond with our beloved dog.

Em has been a great help to us with our dog, giving us practical solutions to work on some behavioural problems. She was also very responsive when we had concerns or problems. Would definitely recommend :)

Emily helped us with our Romanian Rescue dog, Callie, who has some reactivity to other dogs when she's on lead and also general anxiety around new people. Emily's approach was perfect for us - direct, specific but also realistic and down to earth. We had a great time visiting her and felt really reassured from the advice and experience. Callie is doing much better - we still have a long way to go but Emily's advice means we have something concrete to return to for our training. Thank you!
