Welcome

We are delighted to welcome you to Fareham Academy; a thriving 11-16 mixed Academy, set on a well-resourced and self-contained site that is set truly at the heart of its community.

We are a caring and forward-thinking school, where academic achievement and the personal development of each child go hand in hand. Our motto “Unlocking Potential – Creating Opportunity”, supported by our values of Resilience, Aspirations and Kindness, captures the ambition we have for all our students.

We are a ‘Good’ Academy with “Outstanding” features, where truly inclusive learning comes first. We work exceptionally hard to offer our students the best possible educational opportunities and unlock the potential in every child.

We have high expectations in relation to behaviour and uniform; central to this is how students communicate with each other, our staff, and members of the wider community. Our school ethos is Kindness and we strive to cultivate a desire for learning and self-improvement so that students leave the Academy as well mannered, confident and culturally rich individuals.

Our Academy is a friendly, vibrant and exciting place to learn. We believe that all children are individuals and we offer a broad and balanced curriculum that reflects their diverse needs, whist supporting them through the care of our outstanding pastoral team. We work in close partnership with our parents, as well as promoting student voice through our passionate and committed Student Leadership Team.

We are very proud of all that we are achieving at Fareham Academy and look forward to welcoming you to our school.

If you're an adult looking for a secondary school for your child to go to, I would not recommend this school. It's a school that doesn't give kids good education, they left a lot important stuff such as finacial lessons to the last minute and if you wanted support, tough luck because it'll be every month when they speak to you. Some staff are nice, they're doing their job. But only 20% of people passed in year 11.

Ever since the new headteacher, Mr Prankerd joined, in 2019 it has only gone downhill as a school. Most good teachers who actually cared for the subjects and students have left. The school now has less character in it with focus only on grades and performance. Funding is heavily misplaced, such as a £2000 soundboard being purchased when classrooms lack glue sticks. In our DT GCSE class, our teacher left at the end of yr10 because another school offered a placement in which their DT department has the resources to fully teach DT when our school struggles with even having enough chisels. From the start of yr11 until now, the end of spring term, we have done our GCSE coursework with a lack of guidance and without any DT teacher. Our head maths teacher has left on his second school year due to the poor school politics and leadership Overall, it’s only downhill from here so don’t bother sending your kids here.

Great school, the teachers are kind and helpful for new-comers. The food is great and cheap too so it doesn't hurt to buy some.Would recommend for any parents looking for a secondary school.
