SCHOOL AGE CHILDREN - As these children are in school during the day they have free play after school where they may read, play board games, craft activities or simply chill and relax, during school holidays age appropriate activities are provided for all children to access.

There aren’t any learning and development requirements in the Childcare Register, but I will need to talk to you and your child’s teacher at school (if your child is aged under 5 and still within the EYFS) about how I can complement their learning while they are in my care.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS

In order to register with Ofsted to provide childcare all childminder’s must follow certain criteria, this includes

1- A minimum Level 2 qualification for voluntary register- I hold a Level 3 in Childcare and Development so meet this criteria.

2- An enhanced CRB/DBS-This is a safeguarding requirement and ensures all adults living or working on the premises are suitable to be with children, all adults living in and working with children in my house have this, so also meet these criteria.

3- Paediatric First Aid- which is renewed every three years in line with current legislation

4- Safeguarding training- I renew my safeguarding training every three years in accordance with Ofsted requirements

2- My assistant also meets all the criteria required to work alongside me – Paediatric First Aid, Ofsted Registered, DBS, Safeguarding Training and Level 3 Qualified.

A+++++ childcare. My children have loved every minute of coming here. Sometimes not even wanting to come home! Gayle & her assistant welcome all the children in with open arms. Fully educational, learning journals, trackers and reports are all informative. Our children came on in leaps and bounds since they started at Glh. This was our 2nd childcare setting and I must say our children have flourished here.

We have used Glh childminding services for many years now. All 3 of my children have attended here from 8 weeks old upto 5 years. Only leaving as starting school. We can not fault Gayle at all. Kind, caring, compassionate and a true professional at what she does. If you need childcare we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend her.

Both of my children enjoy being at Gayle’s. My eldest has been attending since Jan 17 and she’s developed so much and largely due to the setting she’s in. It’s a nice intimate setting and both Gayle and Alice are attentive to their needs. Would certainly recommend them.

Wouldn’t think twice about recommending GLH Childminding, as since placing my son here back in January 2018 he has developed so much and loves attending each day to see Gayle, Alice and all his little friends. Placing our son here was the best thing we could have done and we are so happy to have found this lovely setting!

Our usual childcare had ended abruptly due to illness, and I contacted Gayle with a view to place our child with her temporarily until our usual child minder returned to work. Gayle has and had been very welcoming and had made this transition for our child as smooth as possible. Our daughter thoroughly enjoyed attending the setting and always looked forward to the different activities, which were always well planned and, I would suggest, better than most nurseries provide. From weekly Jo Jingles classes, library visits and there monthly trips to the local residential home, she also loved bringing home a reading book each week along with countless arts and crafts bits. She enjoyed the healthy lunches at the setting too, I sometimes wished I could stay for lunch! I am very impressed with this setting. In my opinion the organisation and thought that goes into the children’s’ week is outstanding. I never had any doubt that Our daughter was in very good hands and her eagerness to attend confirmed this. Shame she had to leave to go to school.
