Greenhill House

In June 2014, we were delighted to be able to show Her Royal Highness, the Countess of Wessex around the newly built Greenhill House in Cheddar. The Greenhill development represents a significant change in how we design and deliver care for the future.

Once the smallest home in the Somerset Care Group, Greenhill House has been redeveloped into a spacious and modern, purpose-built home which comprises 20 residential bedrooms, a Petals dementia care suite for 16 residents and care suites.

The rolling Mendip Hills provide a picturesque rural backdrop while the town of Cheddar offers shops, cafés and all local amenities.

Accommodation

Our home is furnished to a high standard throughout, with comfortable communal lounges and quiet seating areas available for our residents and their guests to use as they wish. All of our bedrooms are fitted with a nurse call system. The rooms are single, although we can accommodate couples.

For our residents seeking a greater degree of independence, a separate building within the new development contains one-bedroom care suites each with their own living space, as well as a separate social area and larger, premier bedrooms.

Dementia care

We have a dedicated area within our home that provides safety and security for residents who are living with dementia. The suite has been designed to provide our residents with the freedom to live as independent lives as possible within the security and support of the home. Our staff are specifically trained in this specialised care, so they understand the needs of our residents and can support them accordingly.

Other facilities

We have our own hair salon and shop for our residents’ use.

Care Suites

If you would like the care and security that our care homes offer, but also want the independence and privacy of your own home, a care suite may be the answer. 

You will have none of the worries of looking after your own home, while you will have access to all the amenities of the care home, your meals will be prepared by our kitchen staff and can be taken in your Suite or in the communal dining room, and our professionally qualified care and support staff will ensure that all your care requirements are met.
