Gurnard Pre School

We made a branch that goes through the seasons. For Winter we stuck on snowballs and snowflakes, for Spring and Summer we stuck flowers and leaves and for Autumn we stuck twigs and brown leaves. Then we hung cards showing the months of the year and wrote ... On the 11th of November we did all about Remembrance day. We spoke lots about why it is an important day and why we remember it every year. The children made lots of poppies for wall displays and to take home. We also made poppy playdough for the children and … In the week leading up to November 5th we did all about bonfires and fireworks. There were lots of fun activities, craft and baking enjoyed by all the children. We also spoke a lot about safety and why it is important to be safe around things like fireworks this time … Over the summer we harvested lots of lovely fruits and vegetables from our garden that we had planted earlier on in the year. We grew lots of potato’s, tomato’s, cucumbers, carrots, green beans, strawberries and all different kinds of flowers. THIS ROOM IS LARGE, BRIGHT AND OFFERS A GREAT SPACE FOR ONE YEAR OLDS TO EXPLORE, PLAY, INVESTIGATE AND SOCIALISE. THERE WILL BE A COSY AREA FOR SLEEPING, HIGHCHAIRS … We decided to take the children up and have a sports morning. We had lots of fun doing different running races! We stopped for a quick snack and drink in the middle where everyone got to have a yummy jammy dodger biscuit. We then finished on a penalty shoot out. … Well done to all the winners of the raffle.
