Damon Walker5 StarWonderful relaxing stay in this beautiful hotel.
Awesome views over stunning countryside.
Great room, excellent food and wine in the Tara restaurant.
However the gem was the staff, really lovely genuine, friendly and attentive.
Well briefed and trained.
100% recommended.Friday 13th October 2023
Debbie Ward4 StarThis is a lovely country hotel with an amazing view from the garden, especially from the lovely wooden gazebo, we chose this hotel as we had a buy a gift voucher, it was a lovely overnight stay, we had dinner and breakfast included. We went and sat in the bar area after dinner and it was lovely, food could have been better but it was good enough, staff were lovely. I would stay here again if I was in the area.Thursday 12th October 2023
Andrew Finney4 StarBit isolated but quiet for that. Rooms were spacious and warm, clean and tidy. Lovely views from one of the three terraced, wedding marguee slightly obscured the others. Overall very nice.Friday 13th October 2023
Tom English5 StarHad a really nice weekend break here recently for our anniversary. Lovely spot, with an amazing view from the terrace. Food was delicious, hotel was clean, well presented and very comfortable. Our room was good but having a nose in some of others whilst checking out, it was considerably smaller and over looking carpark. Other than that, no issues and would retun for another visit.Saturday 2nd September 2023
James Benjamin (James D)4 StarIf you're going to stay at a hotel, then you want one with character, something that Hatton Court has plenty of. Set in a beautiful part of Gloucester, it had some stunning, expansive views, and if you're fortunate, you'll get a room from which you can enjoy these.
The grounds are pleasant, which some huge pine trees and well kept lawns. There's a nice decking area and marquee.
Inside, the lounge area is comfortable, though there was a slight gassy smell. There are a few cosy corners you can tuck yourself into to relax with a drink from the well stocked bar.
The rooms are well kept, neat, very clean. My bed was comfortable, and I slept well and undisturbed. It was lovely and quiet.
The staff really do the place credit, so friendly and helpful. They make you feel really welcome, and nothing is too much trouble. I felt well looked after.
It's great that Hatton Court is a dog friendly hotel. And even then, it is so well maintained that we didn't see any sign of previous four-legged guests.
There is one area I feel could be worked on to really make the hotel worthy of a 5 star rating on service - and that is the catering for vegan or plant based guests. I did not feel well fed from my meal, and an evening buffet had no options for me. Similarly, there wasn't a vegan breakfast option, without having to be picky and omit elements of the available menu. It maybe that there are options or adjustments that could be made on request, but these days, with the range and choice for vegan eating increasingly mainstream, there's no reason to treat it as a specialist diet to have to ask for special arrangements for.
I'd gladly stay here again, it is a lovely, comfortable, cosy hotel. I'd just come prepared with my own breakfast and food.Sunday 15th October 2023
