We also had the BBQ pack and skippered trip out, this was absolutely fantastic, it took the pressure off trying to manage ourselves so no arguing while having the fun of taking the boat out. It all made for a lovely weekend." "We had a lovely 3 night stay at the Swan Lodge and wish we could have stayed for longer. The location was idyllic, the service was 5 star, nothing was too much trouble for Josephine, such a lovely lady. The bed was like sleeping in a giant marshmallow and the hot tub was perfect for unwinding. My husband and I booked the couples massage and me being short, I felt like I’d grown a couple of inches afterwards, it was soooo relaxing. But the highlight of our stay had to be the chickens, running up to greet us in the mornings was just mesmerising, the perfect medicine to switch off from all the stresses of life. Hawthorn Hideaway is a hidden gem!" "Hawthorne Hideaway A lovely bolt hole with lots of scrumptious treats and activities. We booked a duo massage (sublime), afternoon tea (generous variety and even included a bunch of daffodils!), sauna (fabulous) and BBQ hut with hamper (high quality and so lavish, we had the chops and enough vegetables for dinner the following night). All highly recommended. We enjoyed walks along the canal and in the ground’s illuminated woodland. An evening glass of fizz by the water’s edge & hot tub bubbles under the stars. Our lodge (we stayed in The Swan) was cosy and had plenty of quality fittings; comfy bed, log burner, super shower and the kitchen was fitted with all the basics. The breakfast hamper provided enough for at least two breakfasts (we enhanced with extra teabags). There are too many positives to list and it’s probably nice to leave a few surprises for future guests to discover for themselves. A big thank you to Sarah, the site team and local suppliers, but especially to Josephine for your warmth and hospitality and being on hand for us when needed. I found Hawthorne hideaway on Facebook and thought to do something different and booked the narrow boat for 2 nights as a surprise gift for my partners birthday. When we arrived we was very impressed, very secluded and spacious, hot tub, swing seats and benches to sit and look at the view or eat food. Little breakfast hamper that lasted us both days. Night time was absolutely unreal all lit up and romantic, me and the wife enjoyed several glasses of bubbly in the tub, it was very quiet and very relaxing, the couple was very welcoming and we even had little visits from the hens, ducklings and Smokey the cat. We will definitely be coming back for another visit in the future.

I've planned a long weekend stay at Hawthorne Hideaway for a very special surprise getaway for my girlfriend. We stayed at the Kingfisher Boat. It was absolutely amazing and exceeded all my expectations! The boat location was ideal - very private, peaceful and absolutely stunning sunset - perfect for that very special moment. The boat itself was everything you could wish for and was decorated very tastefully and equipped with all you need. The bed was comfy and I really liked the Kingfisher theme and blue and yellow colour scheme and spotlessly clean. I have ordered afternoon tea from DeliCo which was absolutely delicious and the presentation was outstanding. We also had chocolates from Ansley Chocolates which was the best chocolate I've ever had. In addition, we ordered barbecue which was again so delicious and had a really good selection of meats. With addition of free breakfast we did not need any extra food for the whole stay. Finally, we opted for the couple massage from Shelley - I highly recommend it. It was so amazing and we felt really relaxed and refreshed after. The surrounding area of the boat is stunning. Everything you need for a truly special weekend. Jacuzzi, sauna, fairy lights, barbecue, day bed, aromatherapy room. Very romantic and peaceful. Truly relaxing and rejuvenating experience for the body and soul. The only 'bad' thing about Hawthorne is that you have to leave it and go back to reality. I can't recommend it enough! Absolutely fantastic stay, the Owl Lodge was incredible very luxurious very clean and in a perfect location We went for my wife's 50th and was greeted by very helpful staff. We had the BBQ hut for 2 hours which was exceptional and the following day we both had massages in the Yurt with Shelly, what a way to unwind 5 star resort will definitely recommend and stay again Thank you to you all

Absolutely fantastic, I honestly could not recommend this wonderful place enough. Josephine, Ronnie and Melody made it a perfect stay for me and my wife. The little touches they helped with to make our anniversary just added to what is already a perfect little hideaway. Going to book again for later in the year 👍🏻
