Exceptional students excel again! We are delighted to report another year of excellent achievement by Year 11 in their GCSE Results. Students have consistently demonstrated their willingness to overcome challenges during their GCSE two-year journey and showed courage and determination to challenge whatever life threw at them and as a school we are rightly proud of their success. To read more and see photos from GCSE results day, please follow this link. Highsted students buck the trend! Nationally, lower grades were expected for this year's A-levels, but once again we are delighted to report that the Class of 2022 have achieved record A-level examination results. Despite the challenges of the last two years, the students have shown tremendous determination and commitment to their studies with an amazing 80% of grades awarded at A*-B. To read about this tremendously successful day and see photographs from the  event, please follow the link to take you to our new webpage: Athletics Event 2022.  On Saturday 11 June 2022 nine of our athletes represented Highsted at the Kent Schools Track and Field Athletics event at Medway Park.  On Thursday 19 May, the Year 7 athletics team competed in the Swale District Athletics Competition at the Sittingbourne School; Thursday 5 May, saw the Year 9 team taking part in their age-related event; and Thursday 28 April began this year's District Competitions with the Year 10 athletes. Overall this year has been our largest field of competitors to date, and it particularly pleasing to see Highsted girls competing against the rest of Kent after such a long absence from schools' competetive athletic events.     To read more about each competition, please follow the link to our Highsted Match Reports page. Additionally, this summer, we congratulate Katie (Year 12) for her representation and success in the UK Athletics Championships. This year’s theme was social justice, with a focus on progressing towards true equality in both education and the wider society. Key concepts, such as unconscious bias, diversity & inclusion, and activism were covered, allowing for deep consideration and passionate discussions. Bouncing off of other students’ remarks and experiencing a strong sense of female empowerment gave us an unexplainable sense of pride, and we left each session feeling inspired and motivated to be an ‘agent of change.’ Please follow this link to our Student Voice page to read Millie M's account of the day and download a full copy of her report.
