A pub for quality time. A stopping place. Somewhere to slow down, unwind and sip wine with friends and family. Meet, eat, drink and chat.

So, the menu? Legendary pub classics, with delightfully fresh modern twists, naughty nibbles to mighty mains. An anthology of expertly crafted cask ales adorn the bar, juggling with expertly distilled gins, velvety reds, crisp whites and soft pinks.

Take Sundays slowly, with a resplendent spread brought to you from fields and farms across the country. Meats roasted low, perfectly paired with seasonal veg are at the heart of our ‘Slow Sundays’ which celebrates the flavours, family and friends with that long-standing tradition, the Sunday Roast.

But we’re not always about taking it slow. Less time to spare? Pop in for a week day lunch or a quiet moment with a pint or even a coffee. We are dog friendly in our bar areas only.

After all, this is your local, for time on your terms.

I have already spoken to the staff about this so no issues in posting this review. We had our daughter up from Wales and thought it would be a nice treat as she has previously enjoyed it as her favourite restaurant. However, having been seated there seemed a long wait to get a menu and have the drinks order taken. When the food order was being taken there was a long list of items that had run out because the order comes in on a Monday so by the time weekend comes they are running out of items! We ordered the garlic bread with cheese as a starter and skimped would be the word I would use to describe the portion size. When the mains came the mash was microwaved, as was the lamb (although the chef was skillful at microwaving lamb as this was okay). The gravy was welded to the plate and the mint sauce average at best. My wife and daughter had the rotisserie chicken which should be moist and tender but was dry and tough. To say this pub has been open as a place that specialises in rotisserie chicken my daughter had about three mouthfuls and left the rest. We did speak to staff as we left but as I had already paid they could not refund any money. I explained it was not about that but more that they should get it right in the first place and should be priced appropriately. If I pay 12 quid for minted lamb shank I expect it will be microwaved but not 16.50. On the plus side our grandson enjoyed his sausage and beans (he left the mash)

Service was excellent. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal. Lovely atmosphere in the bar area. Amy, the waitress was very pleasant and chased our drinks up for us even though she was so busy.

We booked a table at 4pm Mother's Day. We were put in our own room together separate from the rest of the pub which was great. There was a limited Mother's menu and my daughter couldn't find anything she liked. They said she could order off the main menu and she got a chicken burger which she really enjoyed. The food was really good especially the roast chicken. There was plenty, we got half a chicken each. The staff were lovely.
