Welcome to the new Ivy Grange Farm Barn!
We take our guest feedback very seriously, and thought we'd like to share one of our first reviews with you, from guests who have been staying in the yurts since we opened. If you loved the yurts, we think you'll love the Barn....
"We’ve just come home from our first week in The Barn and I can confirm that it is BEAUTIFUL. As you’d expect with any Kim and Nick project it’s impeccably done, with every little detail considered and it is all executed with total class. We were worried that we’d really miss the yurts, but being under an actual roof felt rather decadent, relaxing and cosy. And all of the yurty things are still there - the campfire, the bbq and the pizza oven. And you have the whole meadow to yourself. It feels rather magical and exclusive. The new electric bikes were a massive hit. Highly recommended.
Our newly renovated 17th century former grain store/cow-shed Barn is now open for guests!. Sleeping 7 in 2 gorgeous en-suite doubles and a 3-berth bedroom for children with adjacent family bathroom and an amazing open plan living/dining/cooking space with bags of character, we think you'll love it. We've kept our "yurt" glamping roots, with plenty of opportunity for outside living - you'll find a big campfire pit in the adjacent small meadow area, bbqs, cob pizza oven, 2 heated outdoor showers and a lovely undercover outdoor eating/drinking space and a south-facing courtyard for soaking up the sun during the day and star-gazing at night. All situated within a 3 acre meadow which is managed for wildlife. You can relax in the envirionment on a guilt-free, low-carbon holiday with electric bikes (as well as conventional) to pedal to the beach or explore the country lanes; an electric vehicle charger, solar panels and batteries (courtesy of the East Suffolk District Council Plan for the Future grant), in a building packed with masses of insulation and heated by a combination of underfloor heating (powered by wood pellets) and a lovely wood-burning stove - there's absolutely no oil or gas used for anything here!
For those who remember our yurt site, more good news is that we have kept Barn Owl yurt which can be hired exclusively in conjunction with the Barn, during the months of April-September (sleeping 3 and possibly an additional small one).
We owe each and every one of our lovely guests a huge Thank You for supporting us over the years, we've really enjoyed being the "yurt people" and are looking forward to our new venture (the "funky barn people"?).
