Jan Knibbs specialises in couture embroidery and makes one-off unique garments and accessories suitable for special occasions, especially vintage/ fairytale/ bohemian weddings. In 2001 she won the embroidery category in the British Bridal Awards and she has won the Swarovski Prize and come 2nd twice in the international prestigious Hand and Lock Prize for Embroidery.
Jan Knibbs offers a variety of luxury, handmade designer garments and accessories ranging from earrings to complete wedding outfits. Her designs allow clients to buy into new luxury and enjoy a unique range of garments, accessories and statement jewellery reflecting on the past whilst looking to the future.
She can also customise an existing wedding dress, or upcyle any vintage treasures you may have, to make your outfit truly unique and personal. Jan devotes the utmost care and attention to detail with all her creations, making each one a work of art, which will be a treasured family heirloom for years to come.

Mr&Mrs Coles5 StarI was lucky enough to have Jan & Polly as the designers and creators of my wedding dress and veil - to say they were brilliant is an understatement. They were determined to make sure my dress was everything I wanted from start to finish and were so accommodating of last minute changes in heart. Jan creates the most intricate and delightful embroidered detailing - it is truly astounding. The whole experience was so much fun and when I put my dress on for the big day it felt like magic!!!!Monday 13th August 2018

As well as a super destination shopping experience for women, it’s also great for men buying quality presents for wives or girlfriends! Very friendly and helpful staff with extensive knowledge of all things textile! They even offer workshops for those wanting to learn various skills and techniques in embroidery, dressmaking etc. Recommended.Thursday 6th September 2018

Suzanne Foley5 StarAtelier 19 is a warm and welcoming gem of a shop in the Suffolks area of Cheltenham. Once inside you can spend hours browsing beautiful, intricate and lovingly made pieces for that special occasion. And if you're looking for someone to customise or embellish an outfit for you, Jan is an amazingly creative and gifted designer. She helped me put together a one-of-a-kind bohemian wedding outfit which included a petticoat made from upcycled 1920s silk, hand-made flower hair accessories, and an embroidered hoop which I carried as an alternative to a bouquet.
