Thank you for visiting our website and welcome to the Lighthouse school.

School life may look different this year, but our role as educators, guiding and nurturing our students to establish skills that allow them to live life as happy, healthy, resilient citizens, able to make informed decisions in a rapidly changing world, has not changed.

As Proprietor of the Lighthouse school, I am in the very privileged position of seeing our students go from strength to strength each term, supported by a team of excellent Teachers, Teaching Assistants and Pastoral staff.

Our staff are gifted in building climates where students feel safe to take on challenges, student engagement high, and a love of learning deepens each day.

I have enjoyed celebrating the successes of our students this year, as I do each year, and acknowledge the hard work of our staff, through one of the most difficult periods of time in the history of education.

Our website is also a valuable source of information and includes letters to parents, Term dates, Good News, Uniform lists to name but a few items.

Welcome from the Principal

A very warm welcome to The Lighthouse School

I am very pleased and proud to welcome you to our school. At Lighthouse School we foster a relaxed and therapeutic approach whilst maintaining the highest standard of education for our students. The Lighthouse School is a small school where both staff and students work together.

With our highly skilled and experienced team we are able to deliver a personalised curriculum using specialist teaching strategies for every child.  Our staff know the students really well. The students are placed in small classes with peers and staff think carefully about how to plan activities that will interest the students.

The school has its own therapeutic team onsite which includes a Child Psychoanalyst, Speech and Language Therapist and School Counsellor. The team support the students to overcome their barriers to learning and also supports them in their journey to recover from the traumas they have experienced.

Each student is allocated to a member of the wellbeing team on entry into the school. The wellbeing team member of staff supports the young person to communicate their needs and supports them in terms of managing their emotional needs and wellbeing needs.

All the staff and students are really proud of our school.
