I have been taking my 2 dogs to Lilly May for the last 4 years. She is a highly professional groomer. Who goes above and beyond to care for your dog and you. Lily may. Is always very helpful and informative if I ask for advice and help. She is very friendly and welcoming, her groomers in Totnes is friendly and always has dogs who are happy. My little Mari loves going for her wash and blow dry. I can't recommend highly enough. These are my 2 fur babies. Who I trust completely in lily mays care. XX XX

We took our dog for a groom at Lilly Mays a few months ago. We had recently moved to the area so were encouraged by the good reviews we read and the initial contact we made. Unfortunately after we collected our dog we found she had 7 separate cuts many of which were still bleeding, including a claw that had been ripped off, and clipper burn. We were not told of any of these injuries on collection. Our poor pup was shaking like a leaf for hours after coming home, we had never seen her that withdrawn. For the record, her previous groomers have always said our dog has been easy to groom, and so placid, she often falls asleep during the sessions. On contacting the owner at LillyMay's we were told she had no idea this had happened and that a 'junior assistant' had groomed our dog, but that a full investigation would follow. It transpired that this was a lie, the owner had groomed our dog, but it took well over a week and numerous emails for her to admit this, take any responsibility and eventually apologise. We found out afterwards that the owner had, without our knowledge, contacted our vet to try to get our dog's medical records (because she needed evidence of the injuries she had caused). This is against data protection law. We had already offered to provide any vet report she wanted. We were offered a refund but by this point we didn't feel we could trust the owner with our bank details. For this reason we will never go back to this salon and would not recommend leaving your dog in this lady's care.

I have been taking Harry and Buster for grooming at Lillymays for several years. Kelly does an excellent job giving me two clean handsome boys to pick up who smell like Johnsons baby powder.Leaving the dogs at Lillymays is always a great experience for my boys because they get to socialise with other dogs and Buster is not always topdog like he is at home. Kelly walks the dogs and spoils them . My boys look forward to seeing Kelly and have a great time while they are there

I have never left a poor review before, but this experience was beyond disappointing. When I arrived to drop my dog off to be bathed and nails trimmed the doors was locked and there were what seemed like 5 or 6 dogs locked inside jumping at the door and another who seemed like they were cowering in the window. My gut told me to leave, but I stayed. The groomer finally drove in after a few minutes and told me she has been doing this for 10 years etc. etc. and convinced me to stay. When my husband picked up our dog, she charged him £5 more than she told me and mentioned she "nipped" one of this nails a bit too short but put something on it and it would be fine. It was not fine. Bruce's nails bled for the rest of the night into the next day. Every time we walked it would bleed more. It was not one nail she nipped, almost all of them were clipped to the nerve. When I texted her to ask if she had anything to stop the bleeding and to express my shock and dissatisfaction she never replied. If she had been more forth coming, or it was only a few nails-so many nails clipped too short is careless and honestly cruel- I would have been understanding. I would not recommend Lillymays for daycare based on seeing dogs locked in a room alone, and I absolutely wouldn't recommend Lillymays for grooming. It was a very traumatic experience.

Kelly is the only dog minder my dog is happy to stay with. She has a great time in day care and on longer home stays and Kelly has often squeezed us in at short notice, even collecting my dog from our home and dropping her back.
