Lovely nursery, my daughter loves it there and asks to see the staff and her friends when we are at home! Staff are warm and friendly, concerns are addressed promptly, safeguarding practices are good.

Our first son was two years of age when he started to go there, so we had no knowledge of how good other nurseries could be. However it was soon apparent the apprentices which clearly lacked experience, were not doing there job correctly. After three months they had a new face everyday on the mornings, they never kept the same staff members longer than a month. Unfortunately the high turnover of staff means they never knew my sons name, it was shambolic to be honest. Some staff looked overwhelmed to the point where I offered to take my child back home if they couldn't handle there job, however it looked like kids looking after kids. They would steal all the wipes and nappies every time, however my son would come home in the wrong size nappy over and over again making him sore by using brands which would irritate his skin. This can get a bit expensive over time plus putting my son in the wrong shoes and coats. Little plums being the first nursery we have used we didn't know if it was worse or better anywhere else, however the final straw come after six months. I had just finished a gruelling shift at work and after I went to collect my son from the nursery just like I've done 20 or so times before. As I approach the entrance, my son and staff are playing outside in the courtyard with other children. However almost instantly i was bombarded by the manager. Instead of telling me how my son has been, the manager. Who was a small brunette woman approx 5'8 age 28 - 40yrs. She came out and literally verbal abused me in front of my son who proceeded to cry. She ran out the building and grabbed my son from my hand and claimed she would call the police on me because only his mother is allowed to collect him. This was a Lie plus extremely rude and uncalled for as I've collected him so many times. Furthermore I've spoken to the manager in question more than five times before. Never in my life has someone snatched my child so aggressively while he cries dad, dad over and over again. This made me angry and sad that the people we pay to look after him don't even know who his parents are, let alone his name. I challenged her to call the police, because at the end of the day, he is my son. She backed off after 20minutes of argument and gave me my son back who by this point was upset and distressed at the snatch situation. I found the ladies comments rude and sexist, the whole situation embarrassing. Very rude and unprofessional Furthermore they claimed he ate certain foods, which he normally never touched at home. However when he came home, he would be almost in tears for a drink. It was clear that he didn't eat which isn't easy for a two year old. But the fact that he was almost in tears when he got back for a drink, makes me wonder if they gave him enough liquids. Both me and my wife observed this once he was home. There are more bad situations however, other than what has been stated I couldn't find much other faults. Fast track to the current future and our son's new nursery is a thousand times better. The staff in the new nursery all have kids of there own so you can sense the care and passion. Something was missing from Little plums, plus our son cant wait to go to his new nursery, however when he used to go little plums he would cry as I would hand him over to yet, another stranger. Normally someone without children of there own. I had to leave this review, because the whole nursery is a bit of a joke. Hope it cleans up its act.
