Excellent food, atmosphere and service. We called in for a drink one evening when camping near Porlock and thought it was lovely, so booked a table for another night (as they were full). We had an excellent meal, with very good wines and great service. Fish starters and mains were delicious, followed by beautiful homemade pudding and cheese & biscuits. We had a really nice chat with the owners and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. We would definitely go again if we are in the area.

We had a great couple of nights here. The room (Lorna Doone suite) was spacious and well appointed. We had both dinner and breakfast both days and the food was excellent. Great choice from the menu, local produce and very tasty.

Lovely hosts. Very comfortable and quiet room. Very clean and nice bedding and towels. Though I just had a delicious breakfast roll, I heard others saying how good the Full breakfast was. The smaller options were just as tasty.

My room was attractive, clean and comfortable. Dinner was excellent. Good use of local produce. I was traveling on my own and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. I will stay here again.

Poor attitude of Hosts. I cannot agree with all the 5* reviews on here. Our room (4) was cramped and dated and we found the managers intimidating and unwelcoming. Maybe when everything is running smoothly they come across differently but this is a dated hotel and our room had a particularly low bed that I have never seen in any hotel or B&B before, so no use to anyone with any kind of mobility problem eg. bad back, knees, arthritis etc. and when drawing the problem to the managers attention he left me feeling intimidated and offered no solution! We swapped accommodation with my daughter and she wasn't impressed either.
