My son attended Lou's Maths surgery for two years. Lou is one of those very, very special people that you meet in life.
Her maths surgery, is just that.
She diagnosed that my son didn't have a problem with maths, just confidence.
She is patient and kind, but no pushover, she genuinely teaches work ethic and the results have been phenomenal, not just in work, but with his confidence also.
For some tutors its just about the money, for Lou it is genuinely vocational, and that has been proven time and time again, as she went above and beyond to help. My son's confidence grew and grew, and the results speak for themselves.
After exams, Lou sent Dan one of the most inspirational cards I have ever seen, asking him if she could be a part of his life and keep in touch, and he was visibly moved. But that is the one of a kind person Lou Lowton is...
I am honoured to call Lou a friend now for life, and I cannot recommend her Maths surgery highly enough, for any child in a school system, who has been overlooked, or simply would like to boost results. Lou is one in a million.

Susanna French5 StarMy son has had maths tutoring with Lou since Sept 2021, right through to now, preparing him for GCSE (higher paper). He has grown in confidence with a subject that he has always found challenging and his grades at school have gone from 3/4 to 5/6. Lou is patient and supportive but also knows when to push students to get the most out of them. The small group lessons worked well and my son even found them enjoyable! One to one sessions nearer the exams enabled more intensive work on the run up to the GCSEs and in between papers. We are glad that we found Lou and would recommend her to others.Sunday 5th June 2022
Cameron Smy5 StarGetting private maths tutoring from Lou was the best decision I could have made for my education and for myself. After suffering with serious confidence issues for many years, I was, as first, skeptical about starting with Lou but after 2 weeks I felt so much better and I had really come out of my shell. I finished my GCSE's feeling more confident than ever and the whole experience was thoroughly enjoyable. It was easily one of the best decisions I have ever made and I don't think I would have done well in my maths exams if Lou hadn't been there to support me every step of the way. aaa fff5 StarThank you Universe for people like Lou! When a friend of mine posted on Facebook about the Maths Surgery (2 minutes from my house !! ), I couldn't believe my luck , that there was a space free for my daughter, a few months before her dreaded GCSE exams. Neither of my daughters are confident in maths but I can truly say that after each lesson, my daughter would come home more relaxed and she even looked forward to her weekly lessons. For Lou to be able to get my child from a grade (I don't even want to mention...), to a grade I now want to shout from the rooftops, shows me how dedicated she is to get all her students to a grade they can be proud of and what they truly deserve. I have already signed up my youngest daughter for the September intake. I can not recommend this class highly enough!!!Thursday 30th August 2018
Ro Hughes5 StarStarted doing Maths clinic with Lou at the start of y11 and from the very first lesson i could see and improvement in myself! As i progressed through the year doing it once a week i have become so much more confident with my maths skills thanks to Lou.
Cant thank her enough to be honest. Havent had my results back yet but i feel as if my grade will have increased from a 5/6 to 7/8 and i think that this is solely due to Lou. Lou is one of the nicest people ive met and has helped me through my gcses in all subjects not just maths. Couldn’t recommend her enough to anyone that is debating whether it is worth it or not!Tuesday 12th June 2018
C Rollinson5 StarGCSE results day and my daughter achieved a grade 7 when less than a year ago she was achieving grade 4.
