Our aim is to help you pass your driving test in the quickest and safest time possible.
All our driving instructors in Burton on Trent are fully qualified and DVSA approved so you are in safe hands, because they have all been DBS/CRB checked and will appear on the Register of Approved Driving Instructors.
Mark Jordan Driving Burton have 3 instructors covering this area, they are all local instructors so have a wealth of experience with the roads used for the driving tests in and around Burton. They will be able to show you how to safely negotiate around all the areas that are known to trip not just pupils up, but also experienced drivers.
They will take you to the safest areas to be able to practice your driving test manoeuvres, like driving into a parking bay and reversing out, the parallel park and the pull up on the right and don’t forget they will also teach you how to conduct an emergency stop whilst staying in control of the car.

So we will move at your pace, we won’t make you attempt something new until you are confident to do so. Your driving lessons are tailored for you, we know everyone is different and we all have our own style of learning, and at a different pace, so your instructor will work with you and at your pace within your style of learning.
You may prefer to learn from a more theory based lesson, this will involve your driving instructor using the latest Apps and their iPad, to then have a go at what you have both planned, or you may prefer to learn from a more have a go and see style.
Whatever suits your style of learning is how our instructors will help you to develop your driving skills.
How Many Driving Lessons Will I Need?
One of the first questions parents and pupils ask. So we’ll be honest… It’s when you feel safe and confident enough to be able to drive without any help from your driving instructor. This includes carrying out all the manoeuvres that are in the driving test, being able to navigate with and without a Sat Nav and negotiate some of the busiest roundabouts and dual carriageways Burton has to offer.
Our instructors are highly trained and will know when you are ready, so they will work with you to help you get to that stage, helping you become more confident so you are not making mistakes, the closer you get to this stage, and the more can drive on your own the more you will realise when you are ready.
How Much Will driving Lessons Cost?
This all depends on the above, some pupils will pay more than others, just because we all learn differently. Some pupils can pick it up in 20 lessons, others it will take longer, so will need to budget for more lessons as they progress.
Don’t just buy cheap driving lessons, this could cost you more in the long run.

Jake Mander5 StarHaving started looking for a driving instructor to start after the disruption caused by the COVID pandemic restrictions, I was keen to find an instructor who could make my time and money count and who wasn't keen to cash in on the increased demand.
For me, the most important criteria when selecting an instructor was that they were patient, calm, amiable and professional with students whilst constructive with feedback, and keen to persevere with their students.
Additionally, I was looking for an instructor who could provide useful resources and structured teaching methods to succeed in both the theory and practical stages of the examinations and who could be accommodating to my learning commitments at university.
Having been taken under the wing of the man himself, Mark Jordan, I am pleased to say that Mark has gone above and beyond to deliver on all my requirements during my time under his tuition and has made learning to drive after COVID a lot less stressful than I anticipated.
Going into my lessons, I was worried that it would be difficult to find an instructor who was flexible enough to work around my studying and assignments. I was also anticipating nervy, improvised lessons with an instructor who might be difficult to build a rapport with. Fortunately for me, Mark was none of these.
Mark, has been flexible enough to work around me studying at university, graduating, and starting my first graduate job all throughout my time under his tuition all whilst waiting times for tests have been at their longest. Mark has persevered with my learning and supported my development right until the end despite changes to my routine and availability. All in all, Mark has allowed me to build a routine that allowed for regular lessons despite changing circumstances and has been keen to work with me for as long as required.
His delivery of lessons has never felt rushed either. Key skills have been introduced clearly and comprehensively in a structured manner with my progress being guided by personal target setting and constant reflection of each drive's strengths and weaknesses with Mark. By taking this approach it felt like Mark was never rushing me onto new skills before I was ready. At the same time, the constant reflection between me and Mark and working through the well-defined goals set at the start and end of each lesson made sure I was always making constant, observable progress whilst addressing the areas of my driving in most need of improvement at that time.
Finally, Mark has been a pleasure to work with and has made learning to drive an enjoyable and rewarding experience.
Calm, friendly, supportive, and outgoing, Mark has been easy to get on with whilst, more importantly, being fair and constructive with his feedback. At no point has Mark ever been patronizing, impatient or rude, and it always felt like Mark always had my back during the occasional instance where mistakes were made (they happen to everyone!). Mark's teaching style allowed those mistakes to be quickly repurposed into a useful piece of learning rather than leveraged as something to ridicule or insult me with.
All in all, learning to drive with Mark has been an enjoyable, rewarding, and stress-free experience. I highly recommend him as a driving instructor for anyone looking for an instructor to get them on the road!

Cameron5 StarFor me, choosing an instructor that gives good explanations was very important. Richard was great at explaining everything such as controlling the car and navigating the road. I learn best from making mistakes and when they happened, Richard would always explain what went wrong and how to correct it for next time. Richard would always give me the opportunity to practice things that went wrong until I felt confident doing it, and these faults would always be discussed during self-reflection notes at the end of every lesson.
Many driving schools offer 1 hour lessons but Mark Jordan Driving offer 2 hour lessons. This can seem daunting at first but it’s very effective for your money and learning because you’ll spend a smaller fraction of your lesson travelling to and from your home and instead do more learning.
I expected driving and controlling the car to be tricky but Richard’s teaching and advice made this much easier. I found that learning felt natural with Richard and never felt overwhelmed during the teaching. Richard treats you as an equal and you’ll end up having fun chats about things other than driving too, this makes you look forward to the next lesson with Richard and not just to learn to drive!
The fun and friendly experience mixed with the well-paced teaching and support from Richard gives you confidence on the road that will get you to pass your test. I passed my first test this morning with one minor fault. At first, I was worried about being nervous during the test, but the nerves quickly settled because I was comforted by the confidence Richard has given me in my driving. 1 hour lesson.
My instructor Richard Wall was amazing from the get go.
Richard was very calm, patient and put me at ease from the start. If i made a mistake and panicked he always calmed me down.
I passed first time and only had 3 months worth of lessons.
Thankyou so much Richard for teaching me and helping me pass my test today.
I recommend Mark Jordan driving school to anyone who is a beginner or wants to continue there lessons especially Richard Wall he was amazing as i've already said.

Richard Richard was the best instructor I could ask for as he explains everything thoroughly when things go wrong but also tells you when you’ve done well , Richard Had the perfect balance of the two. Overall, Mark Jordan Driving School Is brilliant as they aren’t just excellent and your practical but you also have access to theory test pro which couldn’t be better to prepare for your theory test. They were plenty of times where I felt anxious and dealt with the “Domino Effect” but Richard helped me overcome that. I would definitely recommend this to others and Richard. Jack Ward5 StarWhen I first booked with Mark Jordan Driving school I had no idea what to expect, I had heard from friends that all of their driving instructors lost their temper and made them feel guilty for all of their mistakes so i was definitely bricking it for my first lesson. But my experience here was far from the horrible stories i had heard. My instructor Richard was as good as a driving instructor gets and had both experience and an excellent protocol when it came to teaching. Richard ticked all of the boxes and was not only friendly but patient and honest.
Now the biggest thing that I assume most people will think when they first look at this driving school is the price, there are many other driving schools in the area that are cheaper but the service I received exceeded the price. And the way that Richard taught me to drive probably even saved me money in the long run. Not only that but Richard is a very honest guy and wouldn't try and run my pockets dry and only suggested what would ne necessary in order to get me from where i started to where I am today. 22 Driving hours later and a full licence, who could ask for better? Richard was really the catalyst that sparked the swiftness of my driving.
Learning to drive scared me at first, every time I went out I would be worried about what could happen and I spent my time doing what I felt would be what other drivers would want me to do rather then doing what is needed of me. I forgot that I was learning. But with time and with conversations with Richard he helped me and slowed things down to the point where I could learn way more efficiently. This was the polar opposite of what I expected, I thought that I would be rushed into things that I didn't feel confident on. Now there is a fine line between pushing out of your comfort zone and going too far and Richard managed to find this zone with me within just a few hours. Richard taught me what it was to be a good driver and I intend on keeping his lessons with me forever.
Richards teaching methods were so well made and so well thought about. They were efficient and well made. Richard taught me at a pace that was good for me. Not only were Richards teaching methods great Richard was also a fun genuine guy.
I couldn't rate this driving school any higher to be honest, I wouldn't be in the position I am today without them and without Richard my instructor.
