The lodge was clean. But the furniture old and worn.duvets were old and lumpy. Very uncomfortable when i removed duvet noticed it was a 13 .5 and we stayed in July weather was hot.the hot tub was the best thing about this lodge lovley and cleaned every day. Was supposed to be pet friendly but was nowhere to let your dogs out no fated area.we couldn't even open the doors to let the fresh air in has dogs would get out we had a 5 month old pup so was very difficult. Overall I wouldn't reccomend. meadows lodge too many problems.

We arrived on Friday 11th for our first break in 13 years. We immediately felt like Shaun lodge was going to be a home away from home. I had booked the romantic package which meant my wife was greeted with the most beautiful bunch of flowers(from a local florist), a box of locally handmade chocolates and a bottle of champagne. With a log fire the lodge is certainly very cosy of an evening. Central heating provides that little boost needed to take the chill out of the air. The kitchen had everything needed to make cooking a simple task. The lodge is spacious with thought given to furniture arrangement. The hot tub is well maintained throughout the stay, the bath robes and slippers made available for hire (£12 per person, booked in advance) were a welcome addition to our stay and made getting out of the hot tub a more pleasant experience in the poorer weather. The only bad points we had and to be honest this is just nitpicking at this point , were the shower screen needs to be extended slightly or a sliding door added as the floor outside the shower becomes very slippy even with the bath mat. And we also thought the addition of a tv in the bedroom would of completed this amazing stay!

Beautiful lodge with hot tub, very well equipped and comfortable. Only small problem is there is no public footpath to walk into Cartmel, waking on the narrow, busy country road is not advised.

A very quiet and pleasant site out in the countryside . The lodge was clean, comfortable, nicely furnished (5* bed) & ideal for our needs - and the hot tub was enjoyable, even though it was late December.😊The lodge was very warm but we also used the log burner for the atmosphere it gave. 15 minute walk into Cartmel along a quiet lane.

Booked a stay at Meadows End Lodges after our planned trip was cancelled due to CV-19. We stayed in Herdwick Lodge and what a lovely lodge it is, very spacious considering it only sleeps four. Read some reviews saying the beds are lumpy but I disagree I found them very comfortable and had no problems sleeping, other than the sweltering temperatures we are experiencing but would have had that problem wherever we were and you cant blame the weather on where you are staying! If I had one complaint it would be that some of the furnishings and equipment are past their best. The drawers in the dishwasher do not pull out easily and the top one takes a bit of force to close and the settee, although it looks good, it seems as though the recliner has been used too much and once open it is a pain to close, therefore we didn't recline it after spending 20 minutes trying to get it to stay down on day 1. All in all a great place to stay for a quiet, get away from it all break with attractions within driving distance. Would definitely recommend.
