Easy and well laid out store. The only problem was the staff member I was greeted and served by I believe her name was Katherine. She was sorting out the coffee machine in the doorway on her phone speaking very loudly about what sounded like her daughter. I heard her swear 2 or 3 times and people didn't seem bothered like this was normal practice. Very odd.

Whenever i have shopped the staff have been very helpful and take into account that i have disablement difficulties but want to do as much as i can without holding up any queue behind me. Sometimes it is quicker to hand over the bag and these wonderful staff will place my shopping inside for me. I pay and then get out of the way for the next customer.

All staff I have met are very friendly, and they keep an excellent stock of almond milk in case of emergencies. Have also bought stamps there once and it was a great experience, I purchased both second class and first class stamps, for returning an old driving license and Christmas cards respectively. Staff were polite, smiley and welcoming. The queue was long, almost back to the entrance door! Though I thoroughly enjoyed perusing the various cards the shop stocked as the queue did its thing. Unfortunately I couldn't find the one to describe my love for the beautiful lady I caught eyes with as she served baguettes from the subway counter, though this didn't dampen my spirits or experience of shopping in McColl's. I left the shop in a good mood, I think this was because not only did I achieved my mission of obtaining almond milk and stamps, but also because the staff did a fantastically brilliant service. I'd heard stories of raids, drug deals and murders taking place in this McColl's, though I would happily bring my niece here to browse the shop, eat a baguette and colour in unicorns in the café and feel quite safe and at ease.
