Pregnancy Massage
Massage during your pregnancy is a safe and effective way of treating the body’s soft tissues and helping to combat aches and pains brought on during this time of change. Pregnancy can bring about new aches and pains or exacerbate new ones whilst your body adapts to accommodate the changes that pregnancy brings about. Your therapist can treat the whole body and will adapt your treatment to your individual needs. You might have a specific problem that needs some work or maybe you just want a general relaxing massage. Whatever your requirement, your therapist will be able to assess and treat you.
How can treatment help me during pregnancy?
The treatment can help soothe tired and aching muscles, relieve annoying niggling pain and stiffness, help to combat muscle soreness, cramps and spasms, aid relaxation and relieve stress.
It can also help to combat fluid retention (oedema) commonly found in the lower legs, feet & ankles
What happens during my session?
Your therapist will go through some general information before treatment begins and ask some questions about your medical history and about the pregnancy. We will then discuss your needs for the treatment and explain how it will work. During your session you will be mostly in a side-lying position with cushions and bolsters provided to support you and your bump. Towels and blankets are provided to keep you comfortable and covered as your therapist works on each area at a time.

Jacqui Scott5 StarI have been attending Mountain Massage for over a year now and have really benefitted from Hazel's professionalism and empathy to various concerns. Hazel listens well and adjusts her treatment to help remedy the issue and I have had enjoyed great improvement as a result. Sometimes the visits are just for a deep tissue massage which are always so beneficial and well worth doing. I 100% recommend if you are local or in the area on holiday.Wednesday 29th March 2023
Hannah Gale5 StarI have been here a couple of times and I cannot complain about the service I have received. Nobody likes being injured and Hazel helped me with rehab in ways that meant I could still get movement in. Been so many physios that I don't think have taken my injuries very seriously and have just said "stop" what's caused it (which doesn't help someone who loves doing the sport that's caused the injury!!). Hazel does the opposite to this and helps to understand what can be done to get you in a better place. Highly recommend this clinic 😊Thursday 11th May 2023

It was deep tissue and very effective at relieving the knots and tension in my back. 45 minutes of heaven. I felt so loose and relaxed afterwards. The massage room is downstairs so it was nice and quiet too. Afterwards James showed me how to use a massage ball to release back tension too. Very impressed overall.Thursday 1st June 2023

She listens to both the problem and where I’m trying to get to, and adjusts the treatment accordingly with both pain relief and strength building exercises. My whole family goes to see her. Nathalie Gibbins1 StarSo disappointed with this company. I was bought a £45 massage gift voucher which by accident, I let overrun its time by three months. I was quite stunned when I called up to explain, and despite offering to pay extra, Mountain Massage refused (without being able to give me a reason beyond the date) to allow me to use the voucher.
I also run a small business in the Lake District and sell gift vouchers and I couldn’t imagine refusing to fulfil someone’s order if their gift card had run over by a few months (who doesn’t forget about a voucher when put away in a bedside drawer?!). I would feel like I was stealing from them. And as I got pretty much the same answer word-for-word from Hazel and her business partner - ‘the short answer is No’ - I get the feeling it is quite a regular patter for them.Wednesday 10th May 2023
