Firstly, this store is like entering a library it's so quiet. Some background music would be nice. My partner actually described shopping in this store as being "like waiting in a queue at a mortuary". Secondly, I saw people just give up in queues today and abandon their purchase. The staff are friendly and helpful, and very apologetic when you've had to wait a while. The problem is the tills seemed to play up terribly when dealing with online returns, leaving those trying to do their in store shopping waiting for a very long time. Couldn't switch to another til as they were also dealing with online shopping returns. This problem could easily be solved if they had a dedicated returns counter. Every time I've been in this store there have been online purchase returns happening, so I assume this would be a well used feature.

Awful experience today in Next in Barnstaple Purchased clothes online using my credit card, then stupidly paid off the credit card straight away. Then I needed to return one of the items. Went to the shop and asked them to refund to a gift card. I worked in retail previously so knew this was a possibility. If you don’t have a receipt this is what they will often do! So had I of walked in without a receipt this probably would have been the likely outcome. Anyway, spent ages arguing back and forth about whether it would be possible. Manager comes down, confirms it is possible and then states he can’t do it as the worker had already selected the refund option and it had already been sent back to my credit card. This annoyed me because it would mean that I am now in credit on my credit card- bad for credit rating. So, it was possible all along but I was fobbed off and lied too. If the worker had acknowledged her error things may have felt a bit more ok, you can understand mistakes happen. But no acknowledgment, no sorry, I guess I’ll deal with the repercussions on my credit card and score.frustrated is an understatement.

Costa absolutely terrible. Messed up my friends drink 3 times and my drink specifically asked for decaffeinated as I'm 37 weeks pregnant to be given caffeinated which my body is highly sensitive to so spent the rest of my day with heart palpitations. Waited a long time for our drinks just to be disappointed. Will not be returning to this Costa in future definitely let's down the next shopping experience.

Visited this Next a couple of times, staff are helpful and friendly. It feels quieter than other Next stores which is always good!
