10th June, Confirmation Mass for Our Lady Queen of Heaven and Camberley and Bagshot Parishes

Dear Friends,

One of my favourite hymns is “Bind us together, Lord…with cords that cannot be broken.” According to today’s reading from Acts 2: 1-11, people from many nations were going about their business in that great meeting place called Jerusalem. Suddenly, there was a strong wind that filled the room where the disciples of Jesus were gathered – ‘afraid of the world outside’ and what appeared like tongues of fire visited each one. Instead of being frightened they went out into the city and spoke of Jesus’s love for all. People heard them in their own language i.e. their disposition and openness to all was evident in the warmth and conviction of what they said and the gestures they made. Faith and joy replaced fear and isolation. That Spirit of God does not have a nationality or ethnic identity. He is there for all. We really are brothers and sisters.

There will not be a 10am Mass this Wednesday 8th June. The only Mass that day will be the Requiem Mass for Francis Cowan Rawcliffe RIP at 12.30pm. All welcome.

BIG WELCOME

A very big welcome to Elena (mother), Sofia and Anastasia.

The first Ukrainian family that I know of in the parish. They do not speak English but will understand the warmth of a smile. Pray for Peter who is in Ukraine.

Ministry in the Parish

We thank our catechists for Holy Communion and Confirmation.
We thank all our volunteers in so many aspects of parish life.
We thank you for your generosity to CAFOD – Ukraine and parish financial support and Gift Aid.

Important – Driving to Church: A reminder – if you drive to the church. When leaving, please remember ONLY TURN LEFT onto the main road. DO NOT turn right – it is not only prohibited but very risky and dangerous. Thank you

Finally: When I was a child, I used to pray every day that God would give me a bike. Then I was told, God does do not do that. So I stole a bike and asked him to forgive me.

God Bless,

Fr John

Modern airy welcoming space. Couldn't hear the priest until he put his radio microphone on and adjust the PA system. Brilliant order of service for a baptism. Very good covid control adjustments to the baptism itself.
