Had the carvery here with a friend and our children. We arrived at the start of lunch so it wasn't busy but it did get much busier as time passed. I can see why though, the food was lovely and reasonably priced. There must be some special ingredient too as my daughter aye all of her vegetables and that never happens! There's an abundance of seating outside as well if the inside is busy. Service at the bar could be a quicker however as there were very few people serving customers. I can't say if that's normal as I've not visited enough.

Carvery - Rubber food and old, stale veg and spuds, also the host of the carvery station was nowhere to be found and someone had to go and find him before he carved the meat, we think he used a chainsaw. Mixed grill - Rump, chewy like rubber, chicken was dry and a seemingly small portion for the large version. The reason you do not get 1 star is because your awesome staff member, Trish or Tash (can't read the writing so well) was a great help, refunding the bad food and really showing true empathy with us and our situation, she made us happy with the way she tried to resolve our issues and took a genuine interest in our problems. I called multiple times throughout the day to book a table, the phone was never answered, this was made clear when we came in as the establishment was clearly understaffed, but not even slightly, like really understaffed. The focus of the evening seemed completely on the quiz night as we were turfed outside to the uncomfortable seating. Fortunately it was a nice day so that wasn't too bad. The staff were really trying their best and you could see the pressure they were under, it's not nice to have to write this review as I don't often like to be negative, but it has to be said. We will be returning as we have had fair experiences before, but please, hire more staff. According to my auntie who used to live next door, this has been the problem for years. Finally, perhaps get a better or louder phone as when I told the other server we tried to call and book a few times, she told me that she had not seen or heard the phone all day, she doesn't even know where it was, so she wasn't surprised. Hopefully this is taken seriously and addressed because you have a stunning location and building with kind staff who deserve better. Thank you for reading, See you soon!

Went for lunch with friends and children. The Manor looked impressive and inside the restaurant looked good. we ordered drinks and food at the bar. after 1st order of drinks we waited 90 minutes for starters and over 2 hours before the main course arrived, one plate followed 10 minutes later by the second. The service was truly atrocious. Eventually I complained to the waitress and informed that unless they could bring the food out within the next 5 minutes, we were going to leave. With only half of party of 10 having received food. I was the last to receive my plate. Others had more or less finished eating. I asked my food to be packed to go. I can honestly state that was the worst lunch experience of my life. I was mortified with shame for having suggested the premises to my friends.
