Pennington Nursery

Pennington Nursery has been providing nursery care in the Swarthmoor/Pennington/Ulverston area since 1993.  It started off, many years before this as a parent and toddlers group in Pennington Reading Rooms.   Along the years we changed our name to Pennington Nursery, became a registered Charity, developed a board of Trustees and became the provider of wrap around after-school provision for Pennington infants and junior School.

The Nursery provides  full wrap around care between the hours of 7:30 am and 6:00pm for children aged between 3 and 11 years and for children under 3 between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00pm in term time.

We also offer care for all children up to the age of 11 years between 8:00am and 5:00pm out of term time.

The current Nursery buildings, which are the portacabins next to Pennington Memorial Hall, were provided by Glaxo, second/third hand, some 14/15 years ago. These buildings have been a great help in allowing the Nursery to develop and expand the number of children we can cater for and the range of services we can offer.

However standards of provision and access have changed over the years. We now need to raise funds to improve the access to the buildings and playground to the Nursery to ensure the provision  we offer is fit for purpose.
