Priory Paddocks Nursing Home is set in the quiet attractive countryside village of Darsham, in Suffolk. Priory Paddocks Nursing Home provides 32 beds for residents over the age of 65 who require general nursing and or dementia care. We are dedicated to providing nursing care of the highest quality and professional standards, based on the needs of individual residents. Respect for the rights of self-determination of residents. Preservation of the privacy and dignity of our residents. Provision of permanent care in a loving and caring environment. We offer a full programme of activities and entertainments organised by our activities co-ordinator and supported by our staff. Activities are arranged either individually or in small groups. Social events and some trips are open to any residents who wish to join in. Our professional and highly qualified chefs recognise the importance of providing, nutritious and appetising meals, using top quality fresh ingredients. All special dietary requirements can be catered for and additional choices to the menu are available. Priory Paddocks first opened it's door in May 1987 and under the direction of Marian Lloyd and Andrew Burgessenjoyed over 30 marvelous years. Our reputation was very good and the regulators confirmed this following their visits, however in 2021 a number of key staff, who had worked alongside us for many years retired. Also to keep Priory Paddocks safe a great deal of extra work has been required and we have found the specific unavailability of care staff to be particularly challenging.Since the start of the pandemic given the difficulty in recruiting sufficient employees Marian & Andrew found themselves working multiple shifts, particularly at night and being taken away from administrative duties. We ceased admitting any new residents for a while because of these recruitment difficulties and sadly when CQC came to inspect a number of standards in staff training , risk assessments, audit & quality assurance had been neglected as we had been focusing on maintaining good personal care.Today Priory Paddocks is well on the road to recovery and we can cautiously welcome new residents again with new staffing on board.A new generation of employees working alongside the core team will ensure a renaissance and enable Priory Paddocks to flourish once again. In response to the CQC's findings we have reviewed all aspects of running Priory Paddocks and we have in place a particularly good care staff ratio including a new activities organizer. Now is indeed a very good time to reside at Priory Paddocks.

It's such a shame to see the cqc rating and reviews recently, when I worked here it was an amazing home, staff all welcoming and genuinely cared, the carehome it's self a home away from home, I don't know what's happened but I hope it turns around as it would be a real shame knowing how it was x

I'm shocked and appalled that they are allowed to run with the disgusting conditions there, not forgetting they have a food hygiene rating of 1. Members of staff tell me how terrible things are there, avoid!

Terrible place to work, no wonder there is also jobs from indeed from this place, not only are the staff rude to you, they mock you for your mental health, don't pay you on time, make you work long hours only to be treated worse than dirt, if you want to work in the care industry work somewhere else.
