Self-image shapes our thoughts, behaviours, and ultimately how happy and successful we are in life. Sadly though, many women experience low self-esteem and negative body image. Feelings of inadequacy and vulnerability can deter us from achieving our goals, deny us enjoyable life experiences, and leave us susceptible to a number of mental health problems. Regular exercise and improved eating habits can be extremely effective tools for building self-confidence. Exercise facilitates continual improvement, and experiencing pride in each small feat is a powerful way to build self-efficacy. Learning how to nourish and fuel your body effectively and gaining control of any unhealthy eating habits can also reduce self-criticism and boost self-esteem, and will play an essential part in supporting you on your health and fitness journey. Ultimately we’re looking for that shift in your mindset – from one that criticises and shames your body, to one that can respect and celebrate every effort and accomplishment it makes. Putting your needs first may feel unfamiliar to begin with, but taking charge of your health will give you every reason to feel empowered, leaving you armed and ready to go get the most out of life. My unique and integrative coaching method combines fitness training, nutrition coaching and behavioural change techniques to achieve - and even more importantly to maintain - lasting results. I take a gentle and compassionate approach to training, and with patience I'll encourage and support you as you work at your own pace towards your health and fitness goals. OWN IT in the gym is a go-at-your-own-pace course that breaks down barriers, removes the guesswork and empowers you to take control of your training, for good. You'll learn how to write your own workouts, how to perform exercises safely and how to support your training with the right nutrition and recovery. I can't thank Rachel enough for helping me rekindle a love of fitness and a desire to improve my overall wellbeing. For too long, I was stuck in a rut with my diet and exercise regime but Rachel really took the time to understand my needs, my challenging lifestyle and work with me in achieving my goals in the best way possible. Not only have I benefited from her excellent and realistic wisdom on nutrition and her exercise plans tailored to my pre-existing medical conditions, but the transformation in my confidence has been immeasurable - I even decided to go swimming for the first time in 10 years!

I've been working with Rachel for 1.5 years. When I started out, I couldn't stand working out and felt wholly disconnected with my body. After working with Rachel on exercise and nutrition, my entire outlook on health and fitness has changed. She has tailored our sessions to my abilities and limitations and her support, patience, kindness, understanding, humour and confidence in me has led me to feel more comfortable in and in tune with my body than I have ever felt before. Rather than hating working out, I now actually look forward to our twice weekly sessions. Our conversations on topics ranging from casual to philosophical have made the sessions not only bearable but enjoyable. I can't thank Rachel enough for helping me make long-lasting, positive changes in my life.

I have been training with Rachel for a year and she is a fantastic personal trainer. She has helped me in so many more ways than just achieving my goals. I am more confident, healthier and fitter thanks to the support she has provided me. Rachel understands the importance of mental wellbeing as much as physical, and helps you realise your full potential through developing and supporting both of these aspects of health. She helps me to stay focused on my goals and celebrate the wins, while refocusing me and giving me the push I need when motivation is found lacking. A fantastic personal trainer to help you reach sort term and long term goals to improve your health and wellbeing.

Rachel has worked with me for nearly a year now. She has improved my fitness and my well being with her gentle and supportive manner. Having a lifelong history of difficulties with food she has helped me to understand the difference between food and nutrition. I have also come to better understand myself and am still learning how to live with myself without using food as an emotional crutch. I am now stronger, physically and emotionally and my only regret is that I didn't find this help and support many years ago. That said, I will face the future healthier in all ways. Having a personal trainer and coach is not a chore but a treat and she is teaching me that I deserve it. Thank you.

Rachel responded so quickly to my ad and I'm really enjoying working with her. My request explained what I wanted, and I think that helped her to realise that we were a good fit. She's very tuned into me and so knowledgeable without being pushy or a know all. She makes every session different, I've never had a personal trainer before and I can see the benefits and value.

Rachel has been helping me change how I eat and change years of mindset on overtraining, she is good at listening and explaining. The sessions are always fun although not always enjoyed if you know what I mean as she challenges you.
