I've been using this garage for servicing and MoT tests for over 10 years. They're reliable, trustworthy and charge a fair price for the work. I will carry on using them for as long as they are in business.

Roy Carter Garage, Ware Road !!!!AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!! I do not understand how he has such a good reputation. I have used him twice now and both times have been terrible. Garages like this should be shut down, they give independant garages a bad name. The first time i went was on the back of recommendations about his garage from family. A few years ago my car went in for an MOT, nothing else wrong with it. Left it there all day with them, when i collected it my battery was dead and my car wouldn't start. No apology or anything, just denial it was anything to do with them. They then charged me for the battery they replaced so i could drive my car home. This time (Oct 2020) i had a problem with my car before going on a local holiday where i needed the car. Because of covid a lot of garages were backed up and some had a 4 week waiting list. Again on the back of more family recommendations and being told that my last experience was a unlucky one i booked in with Roy Carter  who only had a 2 week waiting list. When i explained the problem with my car they said "not a problem" and they'll "hook it up to the machine and that will tell them what the problem is". The car was booked in and i took it there at 8:30. When i got there the service wasn't exactly friendly, i got stared for about 30 seconds before Mr Carter said anything to me. When he did i explained why i was there, he stared at me again and proceeded to lift the car he had on his ramp check some things under the car, lower the ramp and then come and talk to me and check the contact details he had etc and i showed him a picture of the dash as evidence of the problem i was having. I heard nothing all day and at 16:30 i decided to call him, as according to google and every single bit of signage at his garage they shut at 17:30. I tried 5 times before i said to my wife at 17:10 we best go up there so we get there before he shuts. When we get there his garage is all locked up and my car just left outside his shutters. A gentleman from one of the businesses next door informs us that they went home at 15:30. He informed me to call a mobile number that was on the building next door to the garage which is Mr Carter's son. When i spoke to Andy, he said that his dad was supposed to have called me, didn't offer an apology, and that they turned the engine on and left the car running but couldn't find any problems (im not surprised if all they did was turn the engine on and left it running. I explained twice to them it only happens when driving). He asked me to leave the car with them until he got to work at 9am and he would give me a call at 9:30. I had no choice as my keys were locked in his garage. The next day i get a call but unfortunately miss it (as it was at 8:55 rather than the agreed 9:30). I decide to go and get the car rather than call them back. When i get there neither Andy or Roy spoke to me, felt like they were avoiding me. Andy was working on a car at the back but didn't speak to me, Roy was in his office, he poked his head out to see who it was but that was it. Instead i talk to another worker there, again no apologies just nervous smiles and laughter about not finding anything wrong with the car. This member of staff tells me Andy has "driven the car up and down" (not what Andy told me the night before) and couldn't find a problem. When i questioned that i was told they had just turned the engine on and left it running, that's when Roy came out of his office with my keys and ushered me out of his garage saying they couldn't find anything wrong and how the car was only 3 years old (felt like he was implying that i was making it up as it they couldn't find a problem and the car is only 3 years old). Luckily i didn't have to argue with them about not paying. If Roy or Andy wish to contact me about this review my car was booked in on October 1st and was the black Ateca, you have my details. Yours truthfully Mr Evans

Friendly, helpful, efficient and good value service. Fixed a problem with my Vauxhall which main dealer couldn't sort. I wouldn't go elsewhere now.
