Unfortunately I had a bad experience here. I was told that my Maid of Honour dress would be ready to collect the morning of my sisters wedding. To confirm this, I called Sew Stitch 'n' Clean the previous day and they responded by saying it would be ready at 11. However, when I arrived to collect my dress I discovered it had not been altered and all the pins were still attached. They had clearly forgotten about it. With only a few hours to spare, they had to quickly make the amendments. As a result, I missed my makeup appointment and precious time with my sister before her wedding. After all this unnecessary stress, I asked for a refund and disappointingly the best she could offer was 30% off our next alteration. Safe to say, we will not be returning. In future, please do not commit to do 'favours' for customers if you cannot fulfil these. You agreed you could make the alterations in the given time period. An apology was never received, nor will we get any form of refund. Instead, my sister was sent a hostile and poorly worded text that aimed to put the blame on her.

Had my wedding dress altered here for my wedding in April 2020 which was then cancelled due to lockdown. 18 months later and a few pounds heavier, Ayu worked her magic and transformed the dress back to perfection. I cannot recommend her services highly enough. I did also have a slight timing issue, when something was promised, but again, Ayu sorted out this oversight quickly and efficiently. She also altered an off the shelf suit for my husband so that it looked tailored for him. Will definitely be using again

Disappointed with the customer engagement and service. Arrived with one skirt for dry cleaning and a few things to alter, only to be told that my (freshly washed) clothes for alteration could not be taken in because they had come into contact with the skirt for dry cleaning. I have never been told this by any other dry cleaner / mender and it resulted in a wasted trip for me. This policy was not made clear anywhere (I even called earlier to say I was coming in). Having complained along these lines at the time, I was told that ‘educated people’ felt otherwise! Then the owner tried to push me into having the clothes I only wanted mended, dry cleaned first, so that the alteration could take place according to their policy. Rude, unprofessional, money-grabbing service.

I highly recommend this place. A dress that really didn't fit now looks absolutely wonderful. Nothing but perfection would do from the proprietor.
