Disappointing After Care.! Our family are terribly disappointed and also deeply upset at the "Ater Care" upon the unfortunate demise of our beloved Mother during Christmas week. It is upsetting enough to lose your Mother any time of year but doubly devastating at Christmas.! After her demise the family attended Shipley Hall within 2 days to clear her room she occupied and package up all her belongings. Upon our arrival we found her room to be completely cleared out of all her belongings. When we were finally given her boxed up stuff we came home to find items of good clothing missing AND also un used, un opened toiletries that were bought for Christmas not there either. If all her own personal stuff had been left in her room for the family to pack then we would not have her things missing.(We could have packed this ourselves as we did not have to enter into the Home as we entered through patio doors on a side entrance) It is most unacceptable that we cannot have 100% of our Mothers things whether those items be big or small. What was hers was hers and she either purchased them or the family did. She was in this Home for a period of 21 months in total. We do not have any bad things to say about the actual care she did receive , i.e the two Nurses, both Ann and Honey were brilliant with her and the Team Leaders we got to know, Jessica and David were great with her and they all did a very compassionate caring job. Faultless, and thank you. Any carers we do not know the names of, we thank you for all your hard and dilligant work. We got on well with the Nurses and it is a great shame that my Mother's demise has left a BitterSweet taste in our mouths at what is a distressing time and a stressful time too.Shame it ended in this fashion.
