I don't generally leave reviews but this is my local shop and I can't stand to see people moan about it. This place sells good sandwiches, the burgers are amazing and the butchers section has a bizarrely huge selection - I once counted 12 different types of sausages and 9 different types of bacon. Always a well stocked shelf of local beers (which actually aren't badly priced at all for what they are). People moaning about the price of stuff are totally missing the point.

Anyone giving this place a bad review doesn’t know what they’re talking about. This place is the bomb! Yea it’s expensive so don’t do your whole shop there but the meat and food is all great quality, and the butcher is lovely! They even have a fresh orange juice machine where you can pump your fresh juice! An Iconc landmark of the Peaks 😂

Good layout inside it's more catered for tourists tho and very very expensive there is a co op 2 mins away in baslow everything is about half the price so I'd suggest going there the price index online suggests its 3th most expensive spar in the uk.

Good customer service however this is irrelevant when more than half the staff do not take the COVID restrictions seriously and should if the police happened to pass by be fined. One member of staff working in the isles with no sign of a mask whatsoever. Two other members of staff were discussing something well within 2m of each other, both with masks, but not actually wearing them, one round the neck the other hanging from his ear. I would hazard a guess that these were managers or supervisors. All in all a terrible example to set for customers as well as putting others at risk and breaking the law.

Imagine a normal spar, but multiply the price by 1.7. Cans of energy drink, £1 everywhere else, £1.70 here. Warburton's bread, normally £1, is £1.51. McVities ginger cake, normally £1, is £1.93. The store is clean (but isn't this a minimum standard?) Premium prices here - probably cheaper to get a taxi to Sheffield and do your food shopping in a spar there.
