Prestigious Area, Popular With Commuters, Fantastic Schools
This small town is blessed with glorious greenbelt countryside and fast train routes to London. There is a wealth of amenities and activities close to hand but it is often the quality of education that is the deciding factor for many looking to make Radlett their home.
Why Is Radlett Popular With Commuters?
Being less than 5 miles from the M25 and M1, as well as providing good access to the A1 trunk road make this a great location for commuters. Radlett train station connects to St. Pancras in under half an hour, and the Thameslink services provide access to Luton, St. Albans, and Kings Cross. Luton Airport is around 17 miles away and Heathrow and Stansted can both be reached in under an hour.
There are many schools within a 5-mile radius of Radlett. Popular with local families due to their Ofsted reports and reputation are Hertsmere Jewish Primary, St. John’s Church of England Infant and Nursery School, Newberries Primary and Fair Field Junior School. For private education, we can recommend Haberdashers’ Aske’s boys and girls schools, Edge Grove and Radlett Preparatory.
The Beautiful Landscape
With around 175 acres of woodland and surrounding picturesque villages, there are plenty of places to walk and explore. The town as it stands today was created at the end of the 19th century. In 1948 the Summer Olympics was held in London and the marathon raced through Hertfordshire, including Radlett.
Only a couple of miles away is Aldenham Country Park: 100 acres of beautiful countryside. With lakeside walks, a farm, adventure playground and even the 100-Acre Wood, home of Winnie the Pooh and friends, there is plenty for all the family to enjoy. Why not take a walk or run around the Aldenham Reservoir and nature trail – perfect to get away from the daily pressures.
