Stepping Stones Nursery and Pre-school

We have a beautiful all year round outdoor area providing plenty of fresh air and space to grow, learn and explore the wonders of the great outdoors.  This organisation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, parents and volunteers to share this commitment. Parents/carers should know that the law (Children Act 1989) requires all school staff to pass on information which gives rise to a concern about a child’s welfare, including risk from neglect, physical, emotional or sexual abuse.  Staff will seek, in general, to discuss any concerns with the parent/carer and discuss the need to make a referral to Children’s Social Care if that is considered necessary.   The school will seek advice from Children’s Social Care when they have reasonable cause to suspect a child may be suffering or likely to suffer significant harm.  Occasionally, concerns are passed on which are later found to be unfounded.  Parents/carers will appreciate that Stepping Stones Designated Safeguarding Lead carries out their responsibilities in accordance with the law and acts in the best interests of all children.

My second daughter is in her final year at this fantastic pre-school, having been there for 2 years already. The staff are outstanding, fun, caring and so knowledgable and experienced. The fact that it’s a community charity, rather than a commercial business means you know the top priority is the happiness, well-being and development of the children. Our experience has been such a positive one. My daughter adores her key worker and is being so well prepared for school

This is a wonderful nursery full of happy children and parents who can’t believe their luck that they found it! My son spent two very happy years here and left full of confidence and with a love of learning. He has settled into school beautifully thanks to the fantastic preparation for school provided by Stepping Stones. The staff are kind and caring and there is a sense that nothing is too much trouble. My son loved the spacious garden and benefited greatly from the lovely relaxed atmosphere. I wish I’d known about Stepping Stones when my elder children were preschool age and I wouldn’t dream of sending my youngest anywhere else.

The staff at stepping stones are wonderful. I felt confident walking away knowing my girls were being left in a loving, nurturing environment where they could relax, have fun and develop their love of learning. Thank-you to the fabulous staff who have done a great job with our little ones.

Couldn't recommend this nursery more. Both my children have absolutely thrived here, and we have all loved being part of the Stepping Stones community. Stepping Stones isn't just a childcare setting - it's a place that has nurtured them, helped them grow in confidence and created lasting friendships for them. They have a brilliant team that truly cares about and supports each individual - it's been lovely seeing the children grow during their time here. They have also loved all the activities on offer - particularly yoga and Coolsportz! We will very sad to leave!

My little boy has just started this term and to say he loves it would be an absolute understatement. He literally runs in without saying bye most days!! Every day he asks when hes next going to pre school ❤ and on the days he goes he wants to go as soon as hes awake in the morning! The staff are amazing, they have made him feel safe and it's like home from home for him. They keep me updated of his progress and I feel so happy leaving him there. I couldn't ask for a better pre school
