Set on a quiet country road in the heart of Hampshire and surrounded by rolling green fields, The Anchor Inn is a true countryside dining room with luxurious ensuite bedrooms, that offers the perfect place to get away from it all.
On the menu, it’s all about traditional pub food created with the finest seasonal and local produce, and the best Sunday roasts in the area. Behind the bar, you’ll find a cracking range of cask ale and craft beer, plus local cider and a great wine selection.
Outside our beer garden is ideal is ideal for al fresco drinking and dining – perfect for a laidback lunch, or a few pints of Butcombe in the sunshine.

Phill Elston1 StarDon't waste your money, Sunday roast for £21, should be fantastic. Over cooked Beef paired with obliterated cauliflower cheese, along side overcooked carrot was not what I was hoping for. We were served uncooked squid, swapped out without any drama for fully cooked squid.
Service was average, managed to mess up our order, and them left us without cutlery.
If you want to drink in a pub with an incredible interior and maybe a packet of crisps, knock yourself out, it is (after all) a beautiful building.
I'd really really suggest giving this place a miss, for anything more though.Sunday 2nd October 2022

We visited the anchor for a family celebration. We'll What can I say apart from what a total disappointment. All food was poor and have been served much better quality at weatherspoons at a quarter of the price. The Vegetarian option was a dismal amount of risotto in a bowl which I can only say resembled cats vomit. When the burger and chips came out well it looked like a kids meal with very little chips chucked on a plate and poorly presented, when being asked of we could possibly have a few more chips for one of the plates that only had a small handful we were told no the chef said you need to order more. Was a lovely evening as we were with family celebrating a well deserved family members birthday but the food and service with a service charge of £27 was a complete let down. Would never recommendSaturday 15th October 2022
Allan Bickford-Smith5 StarA beautiful, friendly pub with a good sized garden. I didn't eat when I was there but what I saw looked and smelt amazing! Great place.Sunday 27th November 2022
Caroline5 StarLovely staff, great wine list. Fantastic dinner in front of the fire. Perfect setting and excellent food - baked camembert to share followed by fillet steak perfectly cooked, with dauphinoise potatoes, delicious apricot frangipane tart to follow. 6 of us all ordering diffent dishes, (all good) and smooth and attentive service. We stayed the night and breakfast was also terrific - I had the full English but there was a good choice of other options.. My room was very comfortable with great character and lots of pampering touches.Wednesday 4th January 2023
Emilie Dock1 StarTerribly disappointed by the food. We were a large group and all burgers were dry and served with stale buns. The staff was friendly but I won’t be returning. It’s a great shame as last time I ate there a few months ago it was so much better. What happened?Sunday 23rd October 2022
