I recently spent 3 nights at this establishment. It's located in pleasant rural village, about 15 minutes bus ride from Oxford City Centre. The bus stop is 5 minutes walk from the pub and the service is regular. Our room was out side the main building. It was clean and spacious and accessed via external stairs. The pub part of the bar had a wood fire and a nice countryside feel. There's a good selection of beer and all the normal drinks you'd expect. The restaurant is spacious and the menu has plenty of choice. We ate there each evening, the food and service were excellent. The Breakfasts menu is good and the breakfasts are very nice. All the staff are very helpful and go out of their way to provide an excellent service. The staff set the venue above others I've stayed at. I would definitely recommend the Bear & Ragged Staff Oxford.

Not sure how this place only has a 4.4 average rating. The serving staff were attentive and helpful: there were almost as many specials as there were items on the menu. Every dish I had was delicious and well-presented and the selection of cocktails and wine was superb. All set in a beautiful Inn with tons of garden seating. Well worth repeated visits, highly recommend.

Absolutely fantastic pub. I booked here for my birthday with my family. The specials were amazing. I had the burger it was spectacular. The staff are amazing and I even had a little dessert surprise for as it was my birthday. I cannot reccomend this place enough. Not to mention it was very busy for a Monday night! Can't wait to return

Excellent 5 star Staff were helpful, polite and knowledge of allergies and food contents. Food was not only delicious but really well presented with decent in portion sizes. Prices were reasonable and well suited for the quality of the food.

We had an unexpected dinner there yesterday and we were impressed at the venue, the menu and the welcome.The variety of the food made a pleasant change and it all tasted amazingly. The restaurant was busy but we had to ask for some elements that were forgotten! Two things which need to be addressed were when we asked for the bill. My wife had asked for a large glass of rose wine which I pointed out out to our server on the menu. It was NOT the glass at £11.40 so to be charged this was a little unfair. Equally I do not like to be asked if we would like to add a gratuity at the table. People then feel obliged to say yes. There has to be a better way? Otherwise a great evening and I would hope to return.
