The Black Horse

Nestled in the heart of Fulmer village, The Black Horse is a 17th century craftsman's cottage lovingly refurbished and extended into a modern pub, restaurant, guesthouse & farm shop with all the charm and character of its original setting in Fulmer Church Farm. Family friendly, dog friendly and welcome to groups of all sizes - whatever your occasion we are here to help. We also offer a large car park and covered outdoor dining area, offering a varied menu of traditional English cuisine - including vegetarian & vegan options. We've been busy responding to the implications & the new demands of the Coronavirus pandemic. We sadly - but necessarily - closed the doors of our pub, restaurant & guesthouse on March 20th 2020 - and promptly got busy adapting to our new takeaway & delivery business, and then, our village Farm Shop. Little did we realise how much our friends, neighbours and even our distant neighbours would come to value the presence of our market and fresh local produce in Fulmer village. So much so, we've decided it's here to stay!

Situated in a lovely village and is picturesque. Staff are friendly and food is good. It is freshly prepared and tasty. There is a good selection of produce in the farm shop. Well worth a visit

Nice clean premises and food was good. Very welcoming staff for both animals and people. Pity the choice of beers wasn't brilliant though. Would certainly go again and also visit the farm shop.

The service is very quick and efficient, the staff adorable, and the food delicious (we had the lemon sole: it was beautifully seasoned and cooked to perfection)

Fantastic staff first of all! The room was magnificent. I think we'll above average for this type of establishment. The bathroom was lovely too. The food downstairs was excellent too. Well within my budget.

Went for Sunday lunch 19/03/22......easily the worst Sunday roast I've been served..... Beef was an oily pile of fat..... The pork was absolutely swimming in oil.... Push your fork on it and oil came pouring out of it..... Hard poorly cooked potatoes that seemed days old.... I was able to eat the chicken and Yorkshire pudding.... Very disappointed and I wouldn't even feed that meat to my dog..... Black horse sort your act out.....
