The ‘Wheel’ as it is affectionately known locally, has been serving the community of Albury and the surrounding area since 1765, and we are proud to be part of the next chapter of its history.
Set in the heart of the Hertfordshire countryside The Catherine Wheel is the perfect setting for family and friends to come together, enjoy a refreshing drink, including locally produced ales, and delicious freshly cooked food in relaxed surroundings.

Chris Hudson5 StarWe came here with our two children for a spot of Sunday lunch. The hardest part of the visit was to try and decide what we would like to eat, as the menu has great choices with all locally sourced ingredients 👍. Luckily I made the right choice and took the last Suet pudding of the day off the menu, as it was absolutely delicious. A particular highlight was the gravy, which was to die for. My wife selected the gluten free chicken roast which looked absolutely fabulous too. Both kids sat in silence eating every mouthful of their Sunday roast, which was generous in size. Then on to the puddings, again all great with great selection of gluten free options. All the staff where so friendly and answered all our questions with a smile. The climbing frame and sandpit outside was a great hit with the kids too. So great to have a local country pub with locally sourced food and drinks available, with an amazing outside space for the kids to let off some steam. Andrew Brown5 StarA very welcoming pub/restaurant serving great food in comfortable surroundings.They have a lovely beer garden. Dogs welcomed which is great as we had ours with us. Service was very friendly, had to ask a few times for childs cutlery. Food very good, great vegan options.
