First time here, extremely impressed, tastefully decorated, cosy with a great atmosphere and friendly staff. Good selection on the drinks menu. Sensible size menu and the food is lovely. Will not hesitate to return. We saw cream teas being served, the scones looked amazing!

Service was great but the food was pretty mediocre. I ordered the truffle Mac and cheese and could not taste any truffle or cheese and it was really bland. I ordered a side of chips and they came out in a sugar bowl tasted great but wouldn’t have looked out of place in a dolls house. It was like I was given the scraps of a portion. On the plus side my sons kids meal was well received and the chocolate brownie sundae really good value for money overall However I thought the portions were small and the food was weatherspoons at best. We went as a party of 6 for a quiz night .(which was Great fun.) 4 of us had food. Beautifully presented, very tasty, reasonably priced and the service was superb. Wonderfully friendly atmosphere in fairly quaint surroundings. It really is worth a visit.

Only nipped in for a quick pint, and was very impressed with the warm welcome and attractive bar area. The Palmers ale, brewed half a mile down the road, was well-kept and well-served, and delicious. Why people go to Wetherspoons just to save a few pounds, when there's a lovely pub like this in town, is a mystery to me.

Have been in a couple of times now since reopened. Good atmosphere, good service friendly staff. The only thing could be improved, remove the bar stools ( bar area too small for them ) When pub busy almost impossible to find space to order at the bar, and while waiting you block the passage of new arrivals at the tables around the pub.
