The Golden Ball

The Golden Ball is an oldie worldie down to earth real ale type of pub in an atmospheric 18th century building found down a narrow medieval street called High Wiend but known as 'The Wiend' when the pub was first built.

The pub is one of Historic England's Grade II listed buildings with rare 36 paned sash windows.

The landlord Andy takes the time to befriend guests in a way that makes you feel like you've been drinking there for years. It's both people and dog friendly, has a really good gritty atmosphere and serves a wide selection of hand pumped real ales.

The What Pub Guide says the Golden Ball is, "Probably one of the best local pubs for those who appreciate diversity of choice".
